Did you know that the most likely reason Play-Doh is so great at picking up the paint but not transferring it to other surfaces is because it was originally developed as a tool to clean coal dust and soot from wallpaper. Turns out it was also pretty great at clearing up sadfaces 😁 Thanks for the video!

This is definitely my favorite Gel Printing video ever! I LOVE what happens after we read the instructions and try things the “right” way…and then we say….NOW what?! And what comes next is where the creativity really comes in to play. I LOVE that you combined gel plate with play doh…loved the baskets and then SO many other amazing things. I can just see you trying one thing after the other and looking around for what to try next! Great job. First time watching your channel. ❤️

So exciting! My gelli plates are in the mail! I've been watching tutorials for months, mostly intimidated, having questions & no one to ask! But You!From simple noting paper type, to more complex, tips & explaining techniques AND, keeping the budget real. Seeing side by side helped me understand the timing of layers, how you choose the color of layers. I've been a collage maker for decades & yet have only just recently discovered the gelli plates! Oh my. Obviously a newbie here & grateful for your instruction. Keep on! Yes! Best wishes to you & yours in the New Year.

Hi there! I had Covid for the first time 2 weeks ago- I understand! Get well soon :) You know I tried to transfer the paint off of the Play-Doh and it was really hit or miss - mostly miss haha. Something about the dough surface wants to hold on to that paint. I also found it amazing that you could just roll up the Play-Doh and start again and the paint just sort of disappears in there somewhere. I hope you'll try it and thank you!

Really love this. Several questions, what kind of paper were you using and how long did you let the paint dry before pulling the print?
@CreatedandMadeStudios
@CreatedandMadeStudios 11 ай бұрын
Hello! Sorry for the delay...I was using 100lb text weight paper with a glossy finish. But, that's just what I had, you can use almost any paper. I use copy paper, graph paper, newsprint, cardstock, book pages - etc. I just wait until the paint is dry to the touch - each brand of paint will have its own drying time. But, its acrylic paint so unless its Golden Open which stays wet for a long time, it will all dry within a few minutes. Thank you!!

Amazing, relatively new to gelli printing, made my first plate before buying all the stuff, just in case. Its great fun. How do you deside on the colours of paint to use. I can't -see- what will work before I've done it. Some have come out really nice others just drab very random results. Eleanor xx

Hi there! To be honest, I rely mostly on color theory and the color wheel to pick colors to use. You really cant go wrong there. But I also have some color books like Color Scheme Bible which I turn to when I'm stuck. Also, swatching your colors really helps a lot. I swatch in a lot of ways but the most helpful is when I can hold the swatches next to one another and see how certain colors look together. Hope that helps some. Thank you!

Nice video Shawna! What a great idea and the results are very cool. My favorite was the spiral notebook print also. Thanks for sharing your talents 😊

I so enjoyed watching this totally creative & inspirational video! I LUVED the prints & as a newbie gel plate user feel encouraged to add some of the examples to my card making, especially since I already have some of the items used in my supplies, EXCEPT for the Play dough! 🥲 Happy crafting on this 12/18/23!🙂
