Hello! I'm new here. And I appreciate how you teach!!! It's a pleasure to learn from you. Sorry to say something negative, but I tried to learn from a few others before finding you and just couldn't tolerate the length of time it took them to get to the point. One teacher actually took 11 minutes before starting the project. But enough of that! I'm just so glad I found you!!! Thanks so much for the lessons!

When I made my first journal I followed one of your videos that you demonstrated step by step and it was so helpful. This is also excellent as well! I’m always fascinated of the care you take showing all the details and explaining them. I agree with everyone these are beautiful!!

Love these. I really like the book page pieces the best. I havent made any master boards yet. I was going through some life stresses and have temporarily lost my mojo. I'm finally feeling creative again. I cant describe how it feels to have your creativity on the blink. I hadn't lost my mind set. I just felt dry. Im feeling better now and starting to create again and work on my journals and ephemera. I also draw and scetch. I can copy almost anything just looking at the orriginal. I have to be sure that I Ichange it enough to avoid copyright infringement !!! I have worked with Mod Podge and napkins. I also save the 2nd and 3rd layers, as there are some tilhings that they can be used for. I don't mind doing the napkin thing. I feel that it's a good addition to the texture of the cover.

I like the white napkin layer over the top and will try it. Maybe some of the buckling could be avoided if the napkin was applied with the varnish instead of glue? Thank you for sharing your methods!

What type of sewing machine do you use for sewing your journal covers? Is it dedicated for only sewing journals? Your videos are always so soothing to listen to as well as learn from. Love them all!
@Saacibo4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I use Brother st371hd Strong and Tough. I use it for almost everything. I don’t have a dedicated machine for covers only. I also have a very old Bagat machine that is semi industrial. Great for leather and jeans 😊

I happen to have an old Brother sewing machine (over 40 years old) stored away that maybe I should take another look at for using for journals!! You're the best! Keep doing what you are doing! Many Thanks!

Hi Dragana, I just watched this tutorial. The video is as always very professional, and thanks to your long experience, full of tips and tricks useful for achieving the best result. It's a pleasure to watch them because I always find useful information to improve my skills. Thanks Dragana you are fantastic, I hope you will make more collage master boards videos, I find them very inspiring and by watching you I can improve my sensitivity in color and pattern combinations. Two questions, if I may: can I use decoupage varnish for the finishing varnish? even the water one? I don't have a sizzix, if the cover becomes wavy, due to the collage, can I iron it to proceed faster? or do you think it comes off? thank you very much for your valuable advice, your clear, relaxed, precise communication, your skill in teaching, really exhaustive and stimulating at the same time, and... a teacher and an artist tell you, so I really know the skills needed to do what you do; and you do it so well. Good day, I send you positivity, beauty and good energy.💗🌺

Thank you so much for your kind words Alessandra! I really appreciate it. To answer your question regarding varnish, I see no problem using decoupage varnish, it's probably the same as I used, only called different in different countries. Mine was water based, looked like watered down milk and dried relatively fast. Your second question, you don't need sizzix to flatten it. Leaving under heavy books overnight or for a few days should work just as well. I wouldn't recommend using iron, because it might melt the varnish or the glue. Hope this helps 😊❤️

QUESTION: Could I use two-sided tape to adhere the various papers to the cover instead of using glue? Would that help the cover to not get bubbles and warping? I love the master boards and I'm going to make some for my covers. Thank you for sharing.
@Saacibo11 ай бұрын
I haven’t tried doing it that way but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I am all for trying and experimenting so if you do it like that, please share if you don’t mind. I’m curious 😊❤️
