There is no harm to learn. Quantity Surveying is not limited to Civil or MEP. I'll suggest you to learn everything.

YES, You can use it for Estimation, Planning & QuantitySurveying etc. As long as your concern is to measure something from the drawings, PlanSwift is helpful.
