Very nice video. please consider the following: 1- overlap between excavated area leads to duplication in calculation. 2- Concerning backfilling, height of backfilling is from foundation level to bottom of ground/basement floor level, not only subtract surplus material from excavated material

aslam.o.alikum.. sir, i have been following your series for the last few months. i appreciate your effort. 1) kindly tell me should we consider the shrinkage and expansion in backfilling. because one cubic meter of excavation is not exactly one cubic meter when we use it for backfilling. should we consider the shrinkage and expansion factor in quantity takeoff in excavation 2) In your video when area for compaction and levelling is determined why you use area to support trench excavation (239 Sq-meter) because we get this value by linear* height. while we require trench surface area instead of this area in case of levelling and compaction. please guide me. ??? thanks :)

Unfortunately there is no way to draw offsets..you have to do it using dimension tool.

Are Drawing dimensions mentioned in CENTIMETER or MILLIMETER? You have calculated horizontal dimension as 15.24 for 1524 and vertical in same way...

Well, I use PlanSwift features and take off extra. In QS Programme I don't explain more PlanSwift. I focus on Quantity Surveying. Maybe that's the reason most people are confused about how it happens. 😆 2 things. 1) Try to practice PlanSwift by watching my Training & Template Playlist. It will give more information. 2) The purpose was to show extra, No matter how you done.

AOA for compaction you just add two areas one from faces of trench which is 240 and 2nd after backfilling, the total building area, but my question is about the bottom area where pad footing or continuous footing rest like before placing concrete. Which was 141 Sq.M. What about that area? We have to include it or not, because the total area of the building we measured is after backfilling. kindly guide me about this
