Not much in the way of new or necessary content here. It's just an advertisement for the company. I think automated renewals or monthly payments is a security risk as the vendor has to keep my credit card in their database. What could possibly go wrong with that?

We, as developers ourselves, wished that someone could have shared with us advice about selling plugins and themes when we just started. Our main goal with all of our content is to use our many years of experience to educate aspiring WordPress developers and business owners, like yourself, about how to better sell their products and create a sustainable source of income. Naturally, when it make sense, we do mention our platform. We are very proud in what we've built and truly believe that it can help anyone to manage and sell plugin and themes. You are more than welcome to read more about it @ freemius.com. In regards to storing payment methods in databases - you might have been right - if we were 5-6 years ago. Modern credit card gateways like Stripe not only allow creating subscriptions without storing any credit card info in the database but actually can receive payments without even sending the credit card number to the vendor's servers.

@@Freemius Please. Give us just a little bit of credit for having just a little bit of intelligence. Your main goal with all your content is to " educate aspiring WordPress developers" to buy/use your service. This video is an advertisement. That's OK, but please, call it what it is... go to 4:07 and then 6:02 into the video and you will see why anyone with half a brain will see this as an ad. As for credit cards, if Experian can get hacked, it is only matter of time before smaller players like Stripe and others suffer the same fate. Anyone who allows a company (especially a small one) to keep their credit card on file (for auto-renewals or monthly subscription payments) is simply asking for their identity to be stolen sooner or later (probably sooner.) I looked at your site and if you have any verbiage about data security, I didn't see it... but I assume you have some security in your system... or rely on a 3rd party to run your servers... perhaps AWS. That might be worth mentioning (in detail) on your site and in the above video. I think you are a good company. You don't meet my standard for transparency or value, but you obviously meet that of others as you have a large and loyal customer-base. Shopify is a better solution for our company, and scales much better than WP, as well as financially. A small business doing just $100,000 gross with a 20% markup on each product sold would be paying about $7,000 to you and $3,000 to the gateway. Obviously you bring enough value to the table for your customer base to pay what I think are fees higher than they should be. I wish you well.
