this is the video I needed! I had never heard of either brand. Saava pressure relief is what I want.

I’m about 425# and sleep on my right side all night without moving. Which of these two would work better for me?

I'm not a heavy person (only 135 lbs, 5'4"). Do you think the Saatva HD is appropriate for a light person looking for an extra, EXTRA firm mattress? I'm looking for something that feels like a rock without actually having to sleep on the floor. "Luxury firm" felt like a deflated waterbed to me and I'm afraid "firm" might not be hard enough as well. Also, do you know if the Saatva HD is firmer than the regular "Saatva Firm" model?

If you are lighter and want something very firm, check out the Plank from Brooklyn Bedding! I have not tried the Saatva Firm model, so I'm not sure how it compares to the HD in regard to firmness.

Ok, you said you would give a personal recommendation... 330 lb side sleeper with a displaced rib in the lower rib cage that they have not been able to pop back into place. This is important because side sleeping causes me pain there, especially if I have any shoulder pressure, but I still roll onto my side in my sleep. I sleep much more soundly on my side. My husband is 280 lb and a combination sleeper. We have a thick memory foam topper which feels soft, but makes little difference in pressure. I'm leaning toward one of these mattresses, but I would appreciate your opinion. Actually, is there another mattress you would recommend?

Hey Nel! I didn't get fantastic pressure relief on either of these mattresses. They are definitely supportive with some soft top layers, but I was getting a bit of pressure on both. Honestly, for side sleeping and combo sleeping, the Purple mattresses are great. The 3 and 4 are particularly good for people of our size.

Interesting.... Purple. I have never seriously considered a purple for 3 reasons... 1, I bought a purple pillow to sit on and after sitting a few minutes the darn thing feels like a lumpy rock. 2, the 4 is quite a bit more expensive than other mattresses. 3, I dislike their adds. However, I was sitting on a surface that is harder than a set of springs and if the mattress is wonderful l might pay what they are asking. I found a store that sells them not too far away so I will go lie down on one and see how it feels. The money back guarantee on mattresses makes it easier to try one that is a radically different design.

@@nel895 Yeah, the Purple is an interesting design. Since you have a store where you can try it, that is a great opportunity. I also found the pillow to be a bit hard, but I think the mattress is great with pressure relief

I'm here looking for a replacement for our Purple 3 because after two years it is noticeably breaking down. There's not really a visible sag but you can definitely feel that the support in the normal sleeping area is much weaker than the section in the middle that doesn't see as much use.

if i'm not big would a normal mattress be better... i want it to be durable
