SAB Kraken 580 RC Helicopter Build Review and Maiden Flight

I built my Kraken 580 last summer and since then it has been sitting on the shelf without a ESC since I decided to go 12s and the 12s ESCs are just so dang expensive. This video is motivating me to finally get it in the air.

The sound may just be a harmonic. We used to dynamically balance the head and tail rotor, then use a Koll to balance the blades longitudinally and laterally. Anything that rotates needs to be balanced.

The iKon log revealed substantial vertical movement at the head on idle up 1. I wound up taking the grips apart, rebuilding them, and resetting 0 pitch. The blades balanced perfectly and the CG was dead on both of the main blades. The tail blades did not balance, but it just so happened I had another set in my stash what were balanced perfectly, so I changed them. We'll see what happens in the next day or so.

If you can hover and have forward flight, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Kraken. It's an FBL heli, so it will fly like other FBL helis you have--just bigger.

By far the best heli in my fleet... I keep checking everything up to around 30 flights then push it harder. I did have a tail noise like a clicking when turning head by hand but after a while it went away and I bought a tail belt tensioner and ran belt alitte loser and now it's perfect?

I really love this setup.. I am running almost the same setup with HW 120A V4 as well and Xnova 4020 Lightning.. But IU am running the MAXX Tronik FBL unit.. I would love to know more about using the Ikon and getting telemetry.... I can't get telemetry on my MAXX. so missing out on getting telemetry on the HW ESC

Hello, I need some information, is the hobbywing 200A beak compatible with a kraken 580 or should I take the 130A beak? In fact I want to buy the 200A to put it later in a 700 but not sure.

I got a 580 mm WALKERA HELICOPTER R/C 22E HELICOPTER coming tomorrow it says it has not updated with usps since may 7th I flew a cheap $60 helicopter last two years ago and on the same day I Crashed my $80 drone into the tree I was sitting on the curb and hit the tree when I went backwards I haven’t flew a helicopter in two years

tick sound is the belt tension.

It went away when he took the canopy off. My bet is he has his antenna mount too far back which would cause the canopy to touch it.

@@TangoOne I had a ticking sound when I was flying, the tail belt was causing it, once I re did it, gone.
