Dear Imaan, there's nothing wrong if a girl wants to live separately:) You have a different priority for yourself and it's completely okay, but there's nothing wrong if someone wants a separate living space for themselves. People can have their reasons. What you said about support from inlaws, it doesn't always happen. There are girls who have to take care of their own kids in addition to taking caring of husband's family too. Many have to face scrutiny, control and interference. Separate home doesn't mean that you cut off from your husband's family. Don't know why people make it seem like something evil. Separate home means healthy boundaries. It's better than everyday fights and developing mental health issues due to them. Ask the children who had to grow up in such families. Ask the girls who don't have the basic rights post marriage. Addressing this because u said 'larkiyon ko pta nahi kiya hota hai alehda rehne ka.' Every girl has a right to her own private space. Even Islam give you this right. Even if u don't want it for yourself, atleast respect other people's choices. Listen to people on the receiving end. You may develop empathy for them.

My POV- I have followed Neha’s never ending social media complains for the past few years. & if I’m being completely honest, I always sympathize with her, I automatically assume yup her in-laws are bad evil people, because I’ve seen it, I’ve gone through it. But now I feel like she is literally attention, seeking, beating a dead horse. It’s very evident that her & her husband have a completely separate life from her in-laws, I don’t know if you guys saw it today, but he has come on social media he has supported her. He has called her his wife, the mother of his son. I am not really sure what else it is that she is looking for. If you are living, a peaceful, independent life with your husband, let your in-laws be. Leave them alone. If you don’t get along with them, you clearly don’t need to get along with them because you are happy & settled separately with your husband, so why are you always on SM trying to get attention

I had the mentality of iman thinking I will always live with in laws but when my kids were born (3 and 1 years old) were totally ignored by my mother and father in law and I was left to cook clean and raise my kids. When I was done my parents in laws, 3 sister in laws, their husband and kids would all come to eat so that meant I was cooking food for almost 12 people every single day. If I made something small for my kids my sister in laws would pack it and take it to their house. It was mentally and physically exhausting and driving me to depression! I had to move out for my mental health as I was feeling like a slave so even if u give sometimes people don’t return the love u have. This is the sad reality. If my parents in laws atleast cared for my kids I would return the love but when dadi dada ignored my children and expected my to feed the whole tabbar everyday it’s not that easy!

I know how you feel. My MIL would give me and my husband zero space and would come and just sit with us every time we would try and have some alone time. She would even just barge right in to my bedroom without knocking!!! In a house where I had brother in laws living would have to walk past my bedroom or come out of theirs to walk past my door. For Saba's issue, my two cents are that Saba has never said anything negative about her daughter in law but her d-i-l has spoken negatively about her in-laws, and that goes against her. Saba has the right to cut off, and no mother does that unless "paani ser oper char jaye". You don't know how many chances she may have given her daughter in law.
