Former Alabama head football coach Nick Saban joined Texas Senator Ted Cruz on Capitol Hill Tuesday to discuss the direction of NCAA sports.
Cruz believes Congress should standardize how athletes can be compensated for their names, images, and likenesses and give the NCAA and conferences the ability to govern college sports without the constant threat of lawsuits and state laws undercutting their authority.

I completely agree. These big time college programs have made millions off the backs of these players and the coaches have made millions as well. People should consider sending their children to HBCU’S. IF MONEY wasn’t important, then WHY when these big college programs have a losing season, the coach is FIRED. The players are the ones doing the work.

Kellen Winslow tried to tell his son Kellen Winslow Jr. the same thing. He wanted him to go play for Ty Willingham the Black head coach at Michigan State. It clearly showed later in career that the University of Miami did not "develop" Kellen Winslow Jr. I would go even further Black parents need to start taking their kids out of sports period. At the very least keep them away from football and basketball. Those two sports are poison for our Black males. They are nothing but 🦝factories. The Emmit Smith and Colin Kaepernicks are few and far between.

Really, coaches have worked years to get to where they are at and they earned it. If getting a degree, three square meals a day, along with a place to live isn't good enough. Don't play college football, no one is making you. Take your ass to the pros and see how you do. It seems like a lot of people forget what development means to these kids. NIL is fine, but the colleges having to pay for a kid is BS.

He told me to go apply for financial assistance at the nearest wellfare office. And told me i can apply for foodstamps as well.. cold world i tell ya.

It doesn’t cut into the schools because the schools are not allowed to pay the players, players get paid from boosters, and doing commercials, etc. Jim Harbaugh former coach of the Michigan Wolverines said he thought the players should get paid by the schools, and the University of Michigan agreed with him, which is against Big Ten policy and the NCAA policy next thing you know Harbaugh was suspended twice and would have been suspended this coming season.

Yep. I witnessed the same thing personally myself on several occasions. Not only that, they also have these designated majors that are "fixed" for athletes. There was a point not long ago when almost all of Duke's basketball roster were Psychology majors.🤔 Nothing suspicious about that.

@terrify2745 Sad is probably an understatement. Also if he’s the best coach of all time how come when it’s legal to start paying players, now he wants to quit. Shows he had was just paying players to go there. Shows it wasn’t the coach, it was the money used as a cheat code.
