Bismarck was a German battleship from WW2 period, one of the largest ships ever built by the European powers. This song was made in collaboration with the World of Warships game, it is not a part of the Great War album. The first scene is in a present day, not WW2, thats why that jeep looks modern. The guy who is taking them to the open sea is the guy who we saw in the video as a young man serving on the ship. The compass that he holds was given to him by the captain and it has the coordinates where the Bismarck had sunk.

Just sad for the pun that the guy Bismarck had been Otto von Bismarck, whom the ship(which is actually female in common german and also would be in english, sabaton used the bord-jargon which made it male, also "queen of the oceans" wouldn't sound very impressive) was named after.
@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ4 жыл бұрын
@@JMJones-hb1fr Nope, the Bismarck was referred to as male. Enforcing English customs on a German ship makes no sense, and I honestly have no idea what you mean by 'common' German, since they didn't speak a different dialect back then. If you mean that they refer to it as female in modern times, that's stupid too. As evil as the Nazi regime and its leaders were, most of the people on the frontline weren't, and deserve respect, including honoring the titles and terms of the machines they commanded.

Sabaton have been lucky to have fine pairings of guitarists but Chris and Tommy really play off each other well and flat out get it.

To father and son ;-) Have you seen the Sabaton History videos, where they talk about the historical background to the songs? (I think you have.) I believe they've done ten videos so far. It's actually a historian talking about the facts behind the songs. Fantastic work. Great history lessons for everybody. By the way, you guys are great too... Cheers.

Imagine being the German sailor that jumped in the ocean trying to get away from the sinking ship so he doesn't get dragged to the bottom of the sea. Scary

And then after that swim to the british ships. Then if you’re unlucky enough be left there to drown because they had to go due to fuel running low.

Unlike WoT Primo victoria clip...this clip was bloody amazing - good job from WarGaming on this one. Also the Bismarck was apparently most requested topic ever, but they could not fit it in any album, so it's a single. First single from The Great War will be coming May the 3rd, I hope you will be reacting to it.
