Honestly, if there ever was a definition of a "Christmas Miracle", it was when Hell itself turned to Heaven. The Christmas Truce to me stands as one of the brightest moments of humanity in the 20th century, if not still today.

I'm from Russia, I watch this movie every year before the New Year. For me, this is the most Christmas Movie, where the theme of meeting the holiday with the family at home is very heartwarming, and most importantly gives hope for a miracle - that someday people will stop fighting and it will be possible to learn about the war only from films.

My great-great-grandfather survived this war thanks to a horse - she kicked him in the knee and it went back the other way - so he was able to return home and did not participate in the Civil War in Russia afterwards.

My great-great-grandpa, the first husband of my great-great-grandma, participated in this war. He was a noble and at 16 he finished military academy. During the Civil War in Russia, he fought for the White Army and served in the Kolchak army as an officer. I don't know what happened to him because his daughter my great-grandma didn't tell my mom and aunt much, she only showed photos of him in his officer uniform. She said he was a Red Army officer, but he had the White Army insignia like shoulder straps, stripes, and decorations in this foto. After my aunt mentioned this, my great-grandma hid the photo and never talked about him again. She probably feared that communists (her mom and my great-grandma stayed in the USSR and her mom remarried a communist government official) could find out that my family from my grandma's side is descendants of noble and White Army officer. But this probably didn't make much difference because, from my grandpa's side, my family was sent to Syberia.

Some one made a video on that long story short germany gets lots of land in Russia and becomes the dominant power in Europe because the Christmas truce only happened on the western front and ww2 happens because the other countries are unsitfed with how the war when and ww2 is just a Continuation of the 1st World War just with a stronger Germany.

Joyeux Noël... one of the best war movies I've seen, I really want to see the other ones of this video, but I just ended that one... and I couldn't just stop crying as I watched it and remembered this song... Perfect movie for Christmas, I even showed it to my friends on Christmas Night, at first they were a little reluctant to have a French/German Movie for a movie, but they decided to give it a go, during the first scene they thought i was showing them a war movie, but, at some point during the movie it was more and more about a Christmas movie in it's own rights.... Guns stop firing, soldiers on both sides stuck on the frontlines with nothing to do and thinking about their families, and only wanting to go home in one piece... Yeah, a wonderful movie to see, especially on Christmas...

RESPECT to SABATON for this wonderful song! It would be good for all the people of the world to see the video and hear this song. I have read about this very touching event in the novel GREAT WAR by Serbian writer Aleksandar Gatalica, which was awarded by the best awards here. So, I know that this never happened again because supreme commands forbade friendships and brotherhood among the soldiers of the two sides... This is an example of antiwar song, covered by this precious video!

Every time I think about this event, I try to figure out what was going on in the heads of the soldiers when they had to keep on fighting after these days of peace... can't even imagine their struggle. Poles must fought against Poles... Some in German army, some in Austro-Hungarian, some in Russian. They were singing "Bóg się rodzi" from every trench and they started this miracle in Eastern Front

​@@quasanchez6179uhm, no After 1914, there weren't any similar truces like this, if there were a truce it would've been out of necessity (Gallipoli campaign , but did make soldiers do the same thing as in the Christmas Truce unless you're British) or forced upon, (A WW2 Christmas Truce between a small squad of Americans and Germans in a Belgian home during the Ardennes Offensive)
