The Polish soldier Witold Politzke was a part of the Warsaw Uprising, in the Sabaton song 4859, which is Witold's prison number when he was in Auswich, the song states that he escaped Auswich and joined the Polish Resistant and fought in Warsaw during the Uprising. If you want to know more about Witold's time in Auswich, you should watch Sabaton history's video about him.

Beautiful. Yet a remark that must be adressed: when mentionning "allies turn away" and "help that never came", Americans and britishes are shown. However, in 1944, those who truly abandoned the Poles were the Soviets, waiting outside Warsaw for them to be slaughtered, as Staline wanted to get rid of any potential oposition. Shame this not recalled.

There are a lot reasons why Soviet army didn’t help the rebellion. As was already said Soviet armies near Warsaw were nearly fully exhausted( men and tanks) due to their non-stop fight with the germans, theirs supply lines were stretched. While german army was regrouped and concentrated. Even with that Soviets still send supplies and weapons by airdrops, not as many as Allies. Another reason why they didn’t help, because they have no idea that the uprising will start. They didn’t receive any information from polish goverment in exile or AK (which were anticommunist and maybe that is why they didn’t inform Soviets). And after that and many other reasons, you can understand soviet unwillingness to help force, that was and would in future fight against them.

If you ask true WW2 history buffs who the best German general of WW2 was, you will get 1 of 2 answers: Erich Von Manstein and... Walther Model. Well, in Poland people still argue about Warsaw Uprising. There is not enough place here to write about it all . Most imortant things? It was act of political desperation. From military point of view it was pointless. There were about 25000 rebels with enough weapons for maybe 4000-5000 of them. I mean real weapons, not pistols or Moltovs coktails. It could end with success only with help of Soviet Army, but Stalin had no political interest in streghtening civil superriors of rebels, polish emigration government. He wanted to control Poland with "his" polish government(comunistic of course). So he ordered Red Army to let Germans wipe out insurgents. After a month of fighting polish commanders decided that they did what they could. Now is the time to surrender. And guess what? Stalin ordered to send insurgents weapons and ammo. Even let polish regular soldiers fighting alongside Red Army to try to break through and support them. They took the bait and fought another month...At the end of the war 90% of city was ruined(10% because 1939 fights, another 25 % destroyed in 1943 Warsaw Getto Uprising, 55% in Warsaw Uprising). We, people of Poland have maaany weknesses. But God help those who occupy us. Conquering us is not that difficult but occupation is usually pain in the ass. It was true 200 years ago, it is true today.
