Thing to note about this vs the english version. The english version is not a translated version of the sweedish one. The lyrics are completely different with a different meaning. The sweedish one talks about a single family where both the father, son, and brothers go out to fight in a war where generations died. Father born in war, died in war. The son was born in the same war and died in the same war. (Basically, i am also partially going off of memory) A lifetime of war is more about the war itself from a more detached, country standpoint.
