Lion from the North Caroleans' Prayer ..... it's SUPER hard for me to pick just one favorite off any of their albums! Changes with mood. Some days I wake up with Rorke's Drift in my head... others with Caroleans' Prayer.. yet others with Saboteurs.. When Dead Men Attack.. Panzer Battalion (aka Handsome Italian 😆)... To Hell and Back (my life hymn)... etc. And each time i can't get it out of my head until i hear it about a dozen times back to back, lol Carolus Rex i scream at top of my lungs every month when going to hospital in the car (my signing is so terrible it's not for human ears, so alone is best.. lol)

Shipping fees to USA is what kills me every time! Saw them only 1x (2019) front row... got Tommy's pick.. and even disabled (didn't walk for years) and in pain jumped for 2hrs in an oven hot venue. 3 weeks of recuperation afterwards! Every muscle was a "screaming eagle", heh. But...I'd do it again, no regrets. Last year they also came near me, but it was a day before my meds... impossible to drive 2hrs one way in pain. I don't engager lives for my amusement. When I'm working around Mom, I play Sabaton on Alexa and neighbors think I'm going to war! 😆 I just can't work without music & theirs happens to have lots of UMPH to motivate you to do chores... Plus it's singable if no one's listening. If Pilecki can infiltrate Auschwitz and Milanka take her brother's uniform & cut off her hair to go fight... I feel like a wuss not doing some housework despite the pain!! P.S.. I'm gonna steal "OH SHIROYAMA" 😂 that's hilarious! Also my ringtone is Verdun solo. Love it.

For translators: 'slag' is a swedish homonym with (at least) two meanings. It can be both 'strike' and 'battle', depending on the context. In this case the context is a battle, so a literal translation of the title is "A battle colored red". :)

Sabaton, i just wanted to thank you for your Carolus Rex album (still my favourite of all), which inspired my choice of topic of my pre-scientific paper I had to write to graduate school. I chose "Sweden under Charles XII." Truly an interesting chapter in history. It was tough to write, but I eventually got a 1 (best grade) on it. Thank you for your music!

Well it did change to it, was a whole segment on how swedes "broke" the war code (would call it breaking their humanity more but I digest). Still, it is a big deal to pretend to be someone else, literally puts someone outside the protection of the geneva convention even today, which is from what I understand why the swedes at the time did what they did. Does not excuse their retaliation at all, just puts a bit context on it.

I've read through alot of comments so not alot noticed but.... In the EN version of Killing Ground they'd usually have Knights on the sides of the vid but on this one in the SV version, the knights have been replaced by a Devilish Looking Carolean with glowing red eyes. In the EN, The Caroleans were made to look and sound like heroic figures. In the SV, The Caroleans are full on merciless killers. This makes sense since as said by Indie over on Sabaton History, The Caroleans reportedly slaughtered every enemy soldier leaving no survivors either for trying to hide their weakspot, or for a reportedly previous massacre by The Saxons....... Props to you Sabaton!

Fun Fact: The swedish version of the song puts much more of a focus on the brutal treatment of the saxons and russians after they were defeated, what would be considered heinous war crimes by modern standards. The english version, however, talks more about how the battle played out and how much of a crushing defeat it was for the saxons and russians while not mentioning much about the brutality, glorifying the battle a bit in the process.
