This track is an anthem for "Livgardet" on their 500 year anniversary, 1521-2021. All the paintings that they show are some of the Swedish kings that they've guarded. The melody seems to be based on psalm 297 called "Härlig är jorden" (in sweden).

Listening to Sabaton is like history lessons. In school I hated them but while I got older I got more and more interested. Thanks for the reaction and greetings from the Netherlands.

This music as a fitting way to celebrate a 500 year anniversary. It's patriotic, encouraging, and empowering with the right kind of uplifting mood needed just before going to war. I'm oblivious as to the lyrics. I didn't heed then the slightest attention, being so focus on the music and visuals. Real top notch stuff. Love your explanation about only having 2 eyes, and something had to give. It's partly that honesty that keeps me coming back.

A suggestion would be to make a reaction to the swedish version of "Carolus Rex" with english subtitles, it is one of Sabaton's best songs. It is about one of Swedens all time great kings who almost took Sweden from a small country and made it an Empire, defeating armies many times their size with superior tactics and battle formations. That song gives me a strong feeling of a Swedish heritage that feels like it can be related all the way back to the vikings, it gives me a feeling of what could be descirbed as a "Swedish way", not to be confused with what has happened to the Sweden for the last 15 or so years. Wikipedia: "Charles XII, sometimes Carl XII (Swedish: Karl XII) or Carolus Rex (17 June 1682 - 30 November 1718´). He assumed power, after a seven-month caretaker government, at the age of fifteen."

_"who almost took Sweden from a small country and made it an Empire"_ ??? That was the end time of the Swedish empire. He was the last king of that great empire established by his grandfather and spent his whole adult life at war defending it against the allied attacks from neighbouring powers. At age 17 he left Stockholm (and never returned there alive) to subdue his enemies at various fronts with great success until his death in battle 19 years later.

I interpret the wine on the map as bold on the battlefield.

After you listened to Carolus Rex, you should listen to Sabaton - Long Live The King which is about the death of Carolus Rex

The chorus about "Lund" & "Belts", are famous battles against the Denmark. The Battle of Lund in 1676 (in mordern day Sweden, but at the time in Denmark). Were one of the Bloodiest battles in Nothern History, where Sweden invaded and if you take in consideration that Denmark & Sweden hold the "record" of having most wars with each others (England - France are second) it does say something. Sweden made a final push with some hundred Cavalry, and it forced the danes to retreat to Landskrona, but because of the heavy losses Sweden could not take further advantage. The Belts part was when Sweden marched over the frozen water in Denmark, the danes had most of their military at the Jutland peninsula, near the danish Island of Fyn, because the most logical place for the Swedes to come from was from Germany, but the Swedes took the danes by surprise and by walking over the Belt and avoiding the danish army, and then lay a Siege upon Copenhagen and when truce was made, Denmark had lost a lot of its land to Sweden (most of it is still a part of modern day Sweden).

And of course narvas fields refers to the (1700) battle of narva in which about 12,000 swedish soldiers including the livegardet defeated the numerically superior russian army during the russian portion of the great northern war

The attention to detail in the video is absolutely outstanding, with everything period accurate - the wine spilt across the map is a representation of their willingness to spill their own blood in defence of their monarch, which they have done many times in their 500 year history. Disgracefully, Sabaton were not allowed to participate in the official 500 year anniversary celebration, despite doing more to publicise it than anyone else in Sweden.
