I don't think Japanese samurai would have stood a chance against Nordic vikings and European knights. Leaving aside the fact that they would never have met at any point in history and I'm comparing the prime/most commonly known examples of each faction. Japanese people tended to be smaller and leaner than the Europeans. Mostly due to their Buddhist-Shinto based diets. They had very little red meat and mostly subsisted on agricultural fair and fish. Healthy stuff, but hardly the diet for producing big and strong warriors. Europeans had meat, milk, fish and agriculture so dietary-wise, the Japanese were beat. Then there's armor. Japanese leather and wood is fine for glancing blows, but it doesn't beat chain-mail, scale armor and plate armor. This brings on talk about their weapons. European weapons were generally more robust and multi-use than Japanese weapons. Let's take the Katana vs the longsword. The Katana is made from inferior and weak iron that is strengthened by their folding technique (a brilliant technique at the time to make stronger weapons from the resources that they had) that is excellent at slashing and cutting but dulls easily, while the longsword, made with relatively low-grade iron at times, could be used as a cutting weapon and a bashing weapon, making it more enduring. Militarily, the Europeans would have beat the Japanese with more robust armor, weapons and arguably troops. Just my piece though. To each their own.

Not a particular fan of "For Honor" because I study historical combat, and the makers of the game obviously didn't. Putting that bias asside: this is a masterpiece! the timing between the music and the cut scenes is perfection. I've seen a lot of GMVs, and this is the first of your GMVs I've seen, but I have seen very few that come close! Amazing work. I'm hitting that sub button just for this one.

VTS -NL well, obviously the three did not line up geographically and historically. I was refering more to the combat styles portrayed being more Hollywood-flash than historical or actually effective. Many of the moves in game are ineffective, leave the attacker wide open to counters, etc. At least the Vikings don't have horns, but the armorless hot-headed barbarians portrayed here grossly undermine them culturally and martially. I don't know as much about the accuracy of the Japanese, but I suspect similar Hollywood shine and confusion. as far as entertainment valuebgoes, I've heard good fairly things about it. But I am also someone who has trouble watching most movies with swords without mentally critiquing their style and flinching at reverse spins and grotesquely exaggerated overhead strikes, so that's just me, really.
