Rare footage here. Sabaton does NOT like to play politics at all because at the end of the day, they're just songs - stories of history that cannot be rewritten to suit agendas. (*Cough*)

@@Shadow-Kalbo1 We will never stop learning abotu the Holocaust and the 2 world wars. My biggest fear is that they will make it seem alot less horrible than what it actualyl was. That it wasn't the worst slaugther in the history of man. That msot part of a country could band together and industrially try to exterminate human beings from existence. How extremely heroic people who did something about it was, like Schindler, Wallenberg,van Hulst, Lutz, Winton to name very few.

Why is this considered politics?
@Tcrumpen3 жыл бұрын
nadav shaa Its more playing diplomat than playing politician. As history buffs and sabaton fans we know that Sabaton arent glorifying war or the holocaust with this song, its a haunting reminder of what can happen when a nation is lead by fear and hate. However there are people that are scared by what happened during that era of time and they would not want to risk an international incident so i can understand why some governments and companies would prefer it if a song such as final solution was not played Its a delicate balance because your right politics should not factor into learning about history but unfortunately they often to especially when its an atrocity that everyone in the world would rather forget. Especially as some Germans still feel guilty on behalf of their country that something like this happened and that they as a country sort of allowed it to happen. Also being British i can say that the topic of Dresdan is never brought up in conversation despite it being an attack on civilian targets only (there was no military reason to attack Dresdan)

I know it's America, I know I live here and we don't much care to talk about the Holocaust (despite literally having a museum dedicated to it - which I've been to, by the way), and I get why record labels and booking managers and stuff might want to shy away from this song, but when you've got a band that writes a song this amazing and this powerful about an event so profound and so traumatic, it's a crime and a shame not to be able to hear it live. Seen them twice now here, but if they ever pull this out when I'm there...I"m probably going to cry. It's that damned beautiful.

I find it funny that people associate a historical socialist government in Germany (30s and 40s) with the right wing. Really shows their ignorance, doesn't it? Let me explain: Left-Right refers to socialism-capitalism. Hitler was a socialist, albeit a national socialist. Rasism is not to be found in neither left nor right, but rather up or down if you will. It's another dimension entirely. That is why Chinese socialists are racist towards South East Asian people, and Japanese capitalists are racist towards Chinese people. I also know people in Sweden who are racist yet belong to various parties: Social Democrats, Moderates and the Sweden Democrats. I also know people in the three very same parties that are not racist at all.
@juliankoch24157 жыл бұрын
+Eric You can't compare Nationalsocialism with Socialism. It has very few in common. Hitler rejected the socialists economy system. Furthermore "socialists" were persecuted during the Nazi-Era. "Socialism" in "Nationalsocialism" refers to the "Volksgemeinschaft" ideology. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volksgemeinschaft) Left-Right is a collective term for many convictions and not just for Socialism in terms of economy and capitalism. If one take a look at the origin of the meaning of "Left-Right" it refers to the seating plan of the National assembly in 1789 during the french revolution. On the left side were the citizens who claimed for equality (liberalism) and on the right side sat the ones who wanted to keep the King of France as head of state (Status Quo -> conservative)

It was an inescapable theme for SABATON, which has mined the stupidity, sadness, and emptiness of war and the courage of those who can be called heroes. It is not something that should be confined to an album, whether for sales or controversial reasons. Even if it is a past we wish to hide, it is the past we wish to turn away from that we must face most directly as a fact.

I understand this being a sensitive topic and managers not wanting Sabaton to play this during tours…but I don’t see this song as “controversial”. It’s not controversial to agree with this song, what happened during the holocaust was objectively inhumane and awful, I’m actually having trouble thinking of words that would do that historical event justice because of how terrible it was. If you disagree and don’t think that the holocaust was that bad, then seek help…I know this is a crazy world and sadly, some people support the actions of the Nazis and others even downright deny them. If Sabaton ever made a song about-for example-Capitalism, I understand how that could trigger some different opinions, but whoever disagrees with this song is mental. If you want to say that pineapple on pizza is good, I’ll disagree with you but I’ll respect your opinion. But…if you say that the holocaust was good, I’ll tell you to fuck off and never talk to me again
