I also follow SD Kali as well as FMA Pulse. Really great stuff there that I have incorporated into my drills. Glad to see them here as well.

We're here to promote everyone as much as we can. SInce Kayan and I only had limited when we met, were only able to do his interview and see his forge area. He actually sent us this technique video and we put it together for him to showcase SD Kali.

Good stuff. We usually just call it palasut and panastas (pass and slash) or palasut dongab (pass and stab). In the end it’s all the same concept.

As we meet more and more styles, we can see a lot of parallels from system to system. It all depends on the region of the Philippines where you're learning it from. Because the languages from vary from region to region.

A lot of students of Professor Remy said the same thing he told them, "it's all the same."

Yes, we agree. Every drill that we see is a pattern that can be broken, based on where you can see an opening.

Nice drill to see. You don’t need a lot of force to do this. Slicing motions don’t require a lot of effort since you have a blade, it does all the work for you. You just have to make sure you don’t cut or stab yourself.

Very true! If you cut meat, vegetable and fruit, it should require the dragging motion to make a cut.

👍👍👍yes, once you learn the pattern, then you break the pattern. GM Taboada said, "everything is boring with learning the pattern, but once you have the control, then we break the pattern."
