In the Karamoja lands of Uganda, you have to expect the unexpected. People here are tough, shaped by the brutal terrain they live in. Men are expected to go on raiding missions to capture cows and weapons, for that is how you acquire status. Women must be able to fight and hold their own. And they say that to marry a Karamojan girl, you have to defeat her in a wrestling match.
What a place to roll into. This was gonna be interesting for sure.

@@alancarlyon3928 Hey my elder; let me call you by this name due to your age. Yes l am happy you shared many valuable experiences similar to what l went through as l young boy; though in my early 50s now and seeing all what is happening now. I do agree with you that many young today are full of individualism, selfishness, arrogance , self centered and permanently greedy and unsatisfied. Elder when l talk about western, l do not mean everyone; but the majority, the system in place. I lived in New York City. But the biggest shock l got was and is the waste of food. Tons of unsold food are trashed every day while the street are full of hungry homeless and some households can efford 2 home cooked meals a day. Well, elder let’s hope the change will come, by spreading the good words and sharing our experiences with the younger ones; which l do every time l get the opportunity to converse with a young person.

Tommy , when I did anthropology in college ,the great documentarians who captured unique subjects rarely went as deep as you. Your grasp of languages and building common bonds with unique peoples is a stuff of legends. I believe you could curate your travels ( like these) and it could be studied at the university level globally. Imagine you showing up in ANY university on the planet and presenting these videos to local audiences. It would be legendary. Tommy, you are one awesome human. Keep on blessings us with your travels. Looking forward to all your future videos as My world travel education dial is moved up after watching any of your videos. Thanx my guy.

@@SabbaticalTommy naw Tommy you wouldn't drone on. You're a natural storyteller and your audience, there, like the rest would enjoy having a global ambassador like you bless them with your presence. I think it's in the cards if and when you want to slow down. If I heard right good college speaker may make crazy $$ per engagement. Tho I know you're a guy with a golden heart a little remuneration for your excellent productions wouldn't hurt. And if your humility prevents you from wanting to stack up too much cash, then think of all the gifts you could give on return ( or vía shipment) to all your global new friends who could use it. I asked you and a few other youtubers to make a note of the places you've stayed in because i am sure there are many viewers, myself included who would love to retrace your steps and even stay in the same places as you. On a last note, consider a future of a few Tommy lodges or hostels where many of your many subs and viewers would feel safe to stay in when they travel. I think you could pull that off as well. Whether in Africa, South and North America or Asia. Or if thats too much then maybe give Tommy seal of approval to the places that you think were the hest hosts. Kinda like your own Travel Advisor honorable mention syopovers...lol. Sorry if I droned on too long but you're a special guy and I think your personality coupled with the genuine people person vibe you have, would make your spaces feel safe as we know such a place would have to meet your goodwill mindset. Be well Tommy! I hope to meet you one day. Writing you from Florida.

Thanks for this!

strange , after having a bloody nose from violent raids how can a bit dancing make you laugh at it ? the government should take them their rifles and machine guns away not much content there either, I have seen African huts before a marriage which has been pretendet, they just want to ridicule that wives still can be bought there in rural Africa, a real marriage would have been interesting in regard to furher vids though, lady would have to learn english and we would learn about her view of the western world good mood in the vid thats already enough to get tens of housands of likes. Greetings from Germany

It was so heartwarming for the karamajong from Uganda 🇺🇬 accommodating our fellow Kenyan brothers and sisters from the beautiful county of Turkana in their land and allowing them to graze and water their animals following the harsh drought here in Kenya 🇰🇪

Most African communities are like this , unfortunately us Africans mistakenly think that other human beings are like this, when we go for studies or job searching in the Western world, we are confronted with racism(something most of us do t know), We are innocent and ignorant of how the so-called civilize and rich nations portray us
