So whats not being said here: (1) Nearly 40% of SA is unemployed anyway, so vbs pensioners getting along without the monthly income theyve worked hard for all their economic active lives, is no big deal? Unjust systems hits out at its most vulnerable the hardest. (2) Pensioners will just have to get along without their income for another 6 yrs or till theres space on the court role. Add another 6 yrs for a verdict + most pensioners will have passed away. 18 yrs since theyve been robbed!? These pensioners will not see payback for a long time to come, if they indeed will see any of it. (3) The money the minister paid back is now in the system, not in the pockets of the pensioners. (4) they paid for an upper class coffee shop serving a variety of aromatic coffees to pick + choose from, while the pensioners dont have coffee to drink? (5)The bank is closed - ppl are also now without a bank too.

Why did the chair not allow interactive questioning? I heard something being mumbled and then Breytenbach's request was denied. This chair was not being fair to the portfolio committee, allowing ample time for Simelane to concoct more BS after consulting with her attorneys (reminds me of that useless Ria Phiyega who could not answer without her lawyer on Marikana Massacre). The chair deliberately diluted the effectiveness of the committee with his stance on the matter. He ought to have allowed the request and insisted that Simelane respond after every question. He should be investigated for his possible interest in the matter, and also properly explain to the people of South Africa why took such a decision on the matter.
