no is not a degree....the most people in south Africa who are most unemployed is those with diploma...referring to statistics it my be 80% unemployed with diplomas and 10% with degrees

@noel. It's not about the level of your qualification, in my opinion I think great academic record gives one an advantage.

Innocent Mthombeni but then if that was the case then why do institutions continue issuing Diplomas. If diplomas are not useful then people should not be encouraged to study them. This is really about networking/"connections", a company-sponsored student stands a better chance of getting a job than those who are funded by NSFAS.

Another issue I think is the experience, .most of the time when you apply a job, it will be stated 5 years Experience
