My real name is Jihad, and I've been facing challenges at work in a non-Muslim area. It's been difficult, especially when tensions between countries and the West are high, often associating my name with terrorism. My co-workers seem to be pretending everything is okay, but I can sense their unease and they careful at me side by side. I find myself overthinking what they might think of me because of my name, fearing they see me as a symbol of terror. However, reflecting on the meaning behind my name, I realize how profoundly beautiful it is. "Jihad" signifies striving and struggling for what is right in Islam. It's a reminder of the strength and resilience instilled in me by my faith. Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the name my father gave me. Alhamdulillah.

We have nafila and sunnah ”prayers”, besides the 5 obligatory ”prayers”. We can pray as much as we feel, need, want, the ritual prayer, Salah. And then we can supplicate as much as we want and need, all day and night long, and there is so much guidance there.

Brother Sabeel, may Allah reward you for your continuous work. I've noticed that when it comes to answering questions about informal prayers, you miss out on the opportunity to establish a clear distinction between unique words like salah, du'a and dhikr. You say prayer but you mean du'a. As you've taken the time to explain certain words already like the meaning of Islam, Muslim, jihad, I advise you to take the time and explain the nuance of salah (the 5 fardh prayers and other voluntary prayers in pairs that are ritualistic and always done in arabic), dhirk or remembrance that is linked to certain events or actions we take and du'a which can be done any time, any place, in any language. When you say prayer outside of the 5 prayers can be done in any language, it can cause confusion. JazakAllahu khayran.

I prefer to use the word worship for Sholah instead of praying. Because sometimes it makes confusion if we talk in English. For me, the right equivalent for word Sholah in English is Worship and the Word Du'a in English is Praying.
