SABEEL Ahmed should explain the Quran the Sunna and the Hadith define Islam. According the the latter Muhammad was a slave trader and he used to loot the caravans of non muslims. He worked as the servant of a rich old widow and later he married her. He also married a six year old girl and also his own daughter in law after forcing his adopted son to divorce her. Inspite of this Muslims say that he was the greatest man who ever lived. If anyone does this today the police will put him in jail.

Hadeeth was narrated by al-Bukhaari (2542) from Ibn Muhayreez who said: I saw Abu Sa’eed (may Allaah be pleased with him) and I asked him. He said: We went out with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) on the campaign of Banu al-Mustaliq, and we captured some prisoners from among the Arabs. We desired women and the period of abstention was hard for us, and we wanted to engage in ‘azl (coitus interruptus). We asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and he said, “There is no point in doing that, for there is no soul which Allaah has decreed should exist until the Day of Resurrection but it will come into existence.” Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that at the Battle of Hunain Allah's Messenger sent an army to Autas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. It's good that there are laws against intoxicants in Islam. I have seen more than a dozen alcoholics in my 2 week rotation in psychiatry who have lost everything they had. Will you not then abstain?" Intoxicants as in plural, not just alcohol. Every intoxicant that harms the body is prohibited. chapter 5 verse 90 "O believers! Intoxicants, gambling, idols, and drawing lots for decisions are all evil of Satan’s handiwork. So shun them so you may be successful." Again intoxicants in its plural form not just alcohol. They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about intoxicants and gambling. Say, “There is great evil in both, as well as some benefit for people-but the evil outweighs the benefit.” They ˹also˺ ask you ˹O Prophet˺ what they should donate. Say, “Whatever you can spare.” This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you ˹believers˺, so perhaps you may reflect. Every intoxicant that harms the body is haram (prohibited).

Let me talk about the 2nd side of the coin you missed to see & if you're really honest to yourself, you'll see the truth. 1) Forget Islam for 1 min. When was slavery abolished by the modern world & be honest now.... Modern form of Humans have lived for over 200000 years now, but bitter truth is slavery was abolished only 150 years ago (for 99.9% of our current existence or more) slavery has been the norm & acceptable across the world. Slavery was formally abolished after the 13th Amendment was adopted as part of the United States Constitution in 1865 by Abraham Lincon (feel free to verify that he too ironically owned slaved before that). So every human race, region, country, ethnicity in the whole world traded slaves until very recently. There are countless literature on it as well and if you're honest - you'll find nothing but truth in it. so was the worldly norm that existed before islam was carried forward during the life of the prophet? yes, they were carried forward and wasn't illegal. In similar capacity, the norm of the world has been that males could (it's not a compulsion, but an option) to have sex with mistress/concubines/female-captives that they possess. Slaves had many rights as well that had to be fullfilled by masters. These traditions are well documented in non-islamic historical books as well - so you're more than welcome to search yourself and if you're honest - you'll see that's how the world used to roll back then, not just the Arabs, not just the muslims. It is pretty understandable that in year 2022 most of it isn't applicable nor makes any sense since humans have made so many reforms, banned slavery and new advancements. we're past slavery and I am glad that we are.

Btw, I'm a smoker too 😂 For me, this is how I stay away from Allah's prohibitions. I got no hang over & stay awake, but still relaxed in carrying out Allah's orders.
