Mobiles is a weekly show dedicated to the many different forms of transport, and more generally to "anything that rolls or moves".
In this weekly show "Atlantic Tram 15 " a portrait of Freddy Van Dijck, captain of a Boeing 747-129C for Sabena, and a look at his day-to-day work during a Brussels-New York flight -
broadcast 04/18/1982.
The first Boeng 747-129 (OO-SGA - msn 20401) airframe for Sabena was deliverd at Brussels on November 26 1970. The second B747-129, OO-SGB was deliverd on December, 4 1970.
It went operational/first commercial flight on January, 8 1971, BRU-NYC
The plane in question was a 747-129 Combi ( with cargo door on the main deck).
It was originally delivered as an 'ordinary' 747-129 ( full passenger, without the cargo door).
It was converted by Boeing at Everett to SCD (side cargo door) in the first months (jan/feb) of 1974
It was taken out of commercial service on March, 26 1993 after a flight from ORY-BRU, or was it on February, 28 1993 after a flight from New York, i'm not sure...
The airframe had a total of 17682 start and landings this resulted in 94794 flight time hours.
"Aunt Agatha" waited on Brussels tarmac for a potential buyer which was not found, a solution in form of being used as restaurant also failed as "not transportable" so demolition was the final fate.
The giant queen was scrapped at Zaventem on December, 3 1994 the demolition was completed by December, 13 1994
