@02:13 that is definitely not an oversight. An oversight would be if the statue was glitching or bugging out and nobody caught it during playtesting or whatever. Here, they could’ve just improved the graphics instead of blatantly going out of their way to change the proportions and facial structures completely. That’s intentional. I’m glad saber is fixing it, but they need to check in on who is behind these initial changes in the first place.

Saber Interactive, was a branch of Embracer Group, with Aspyr and other studios under their management. Embracer Group sold off Saber Interactive March 2024 to Beacon Interactive and is now currently back under management of a co-founder. My guess is, when Saber was sold off by Embracer, they gave development over to Aspyr, with assistance from CD, which is also an Embracer branch company. Aspyr most likely hired on a bunch of the key devs from Saber who had been working on this project.

At 3:08 ALSO, look at the women in the backround mural. They are clearly women, but look at the size of their arms. That alone makes me think this was deffinately just an early attempt and not a woke thing. It's subtle, but you can see they reworked even the statues in the relief too. Similar, but the arms are slimmed down to look more femanine.

I think the ideal scenario in the future would be to allow Saber to make a new game with Classic Lara in the same engine as the old games they made the remasters of and get Shelley Blond or Judith Gibbins or Jonell Elliott to come back to voice Lara and just set it after Angel of Darkness and ignore all the other Tomb Raider games. They should also let Saber make a new Legacy of Kain game set after Defiance in the the same engine they are using for the remasters and bring back Simon Templeman to voice Kain again. These don't need to be crazy high budget games.

What I think both men & women appreciate, about Legacy of Kain as a series overall, is that there's absolutely no mundane human issues that the protagonists even respect. There was no room in the narrative to think about women's rights in Nosgoth. Not men's rights either. There are questions about Fate & the nature of Free Will itself to solve. Nobody cares about romance or your hedonism on the big stage, unless it's established that it's been something used against the individuals in the narrative who are bound by such ideas.

Do people actually understand that grafic designers are nerds that do not acually know the anatomy that well, less so the anatomy of the opposite gender 😁 Politic agenda is not everything and always... Overinterpretation. Designers tend to model a female like a subtile male, which doesn't really work. To model a nice female without ovedoing it is acually pretty hard. It is easier with simpler graphics, as the brain imagines the rest. But in high-polygon era you will notice how ugly some models are. In most games of most time. Shaping monsters is always easier than the nice stuff.

Second time I've heard good about Saber in the past few months. They worked with Tripwire for KF2 and after they fired their own CEO/Co-founder (and college friend IIRC from a KF2 release interview) for a Christian/Pro-life tweet [which sucks, my late Dad and I played the hell out of 1 and 2 but now I don't think I'll be buying 3, if I had gotten around to telling him about it IK he'd said Fk them] but I heard they were pressured by a sister company to fire him. Seems unlikely that it was Saber at this point. IK the community manager is on Bluesky with pronouns in bio (went there to troll them on it) and deletes any posts on Steam pointing out the firing.

Honestly, the statue looks much better now than before... feels like if some dude from Warcraft read the memo and beautified it -- and that's saying a lot because the female statues in WoW always looked quite right for their low-poly count. But I guess the beauty for architectonic art is in the eye of the beholder (or really people clopped at the old statue in the past, idk). Feminity should be extoled, not destroyed and buried. A lot of people should just learn more about the virtue of temperance instead of burying the stuff that riles their snakes out of sloth.

Troon's are scared of the DORITOS shapes and the HIPS like SHAKIRAAA. Narrower waists, and a missing rib gives the PERSPECTIVE of smaller TOP to WIDER HIPS proportionally, cuz men and women have different angle of HIP to LEG angle as well. This ^ makes the HIPS and LEGS stand OUT compared to men, straighter, and makes girl's legs feel more like the traditional "female" body.

What probably happened was that the original picture was from when they changed the aspect ratio as the original game was optimizer for CRT TVs which were mostly 4:3 and when stretched to 16:9 would have made The statues look like that
