Sabertooth is BROKEN!

Justin you made it obvious you do not play Saber. Here are some tips to help you understand the sheer terror of the Mutant Brotherhood-Chad. Saber's Grab is tricky to tech. You do not tech on first frame like most of the cast. You tech on the in between frame of getting grab and driving you (to make it easy to understand tech when you see him put your character under him, but before he starts to go down). Saber has three OTG is this game [Roundhouse, Fierce, and kick]. He is one of the few members that can have a combo consisting of only fierce and roundhouse, and the damage scale in this game mostly hits special and super moves (If I remember correctly) 1.5 to 2.0 per hit. Normal attacks receive less than 1.0 until the fifth hit. These fierce and roundhouse only combos deals damage close to that of the Juggernaut. I believe he is the only character that can do this [excluding Juggernaut]. If you are going to spam fierce in the air, do it at the top and not mid screen. Saber's pounce is slow-- yes, but it has priority over any hitbox not directly colliding with its own. Think of it like a flying Kyo Wicked Chew. If Saber's pounce hit anywhere (I mean anywhere) that's not the tail end of her [Storm] fierce, it will beat it straight out. And he gets a seriously dreadful basic combo into super from it, that can do easily around 40 -55 %. Saber hits hard, but to balance him out you can interrupt a lot of his specials and his supers are easy to stop. The best way to get the advantage on Saber is to press the attack. If he gets started it is hard to stop him, but he is limited to kick, jab, and forward as a defense (all of which are weak to air attacks). DO NOT challenge him in the air. Fierce is actually a hitbox wall and roundhouse hitbox goes to his knees. Jump in when he is dashing; his best two ground anti- air normal are strong and crouching fierce. The second of strong anti - air; not the first, and the crouching fierce can not be performed from wave dashing. He will literally wait for like .5 seconds before execution. It will also stop his momentum. Hope this helps you from a guy that been playing Sabertooth since the arcades 24 yrs ago.

I don't really have an experienced opinion about MvC:Infinite, but seeing these sprites, stages, music, etc. of XvSF just puts Infinite in the trash. Seriously, these early Vs titles are just oozing with style that I freakin' love.

I played this on my Playstation, where you couldn't tag but could cancel supers into supers. Sabretooth and Gambit were able to do some nasty things with that feature! Sabretooth's DP+PPP does crazy damage and there was a way to combo into it..

Yeah. Old fg announcers are great overall. Not all are top tier, but the ones who arent still are good quality. It seems fg's started pushing the standards for announcers in the mid 90's: XvSF-MvSF and SFA2, and KoF 96-97 and RBS in the Snk side, brought a kind of new school of announcers with a distinguished style compared to the announcer style of previous games. Before that, they were kinda more generic, as if the companies werent initially interested in that element of their games.

My cousin was a comic collector and a huge sabertooth fan in those decades back (he'd even talk about the artists and writers that portrayed him the way he thought sabes should be portrayed), so he obviously main'd sabertooth when this came out in the arcades. Nice to see how well the character could be utilized and what could be exploited, even if decades later. Trips down memory lane can be fun though.

Sabretooth's can combo into slashes super off of a sneeze. Air slam? Slashes. Standing fierce? Cancel, slashes. He does ridiculous damage with small combos he's extremely fast. Godly, especially with Akuma.
