I have a proud Sabian-signed endorser for nearly 30 years now. I played their cymbals previous to signing with them, but in 1994 we made it official. I’ve never seen better artist support from any company and they’ve stuck by me through major label deals, down to cruise ship/cover band work. Many companies drop an artist once his/her stock in the industry goes down and back up, but Sabian stood by me time and time again-thanks, Sabian! ❤️ The best cymbals in the worlds!

I bought Sabian sizzle hats 14” in 1987 I still use them along with a 20”Sabian HH ride that I still play, picked that one in 1990. I’ve noticed lately the cymbals aren’t what they used to be for me HHX are awful AAXexplosions are nice I have the nineteen and seventeen but I’d like to see them get back to what made them competitive great price we’re just as good as paiste ,Zildjain, meinyl on down the line,I can say I’ve never broken a Sabian and I’m a heavy handed drummer

For years I'd had the wrong idea about Sabian. I thought it was formed from a Zildjian family member that "went rogue" and thus it was basically like an internal family issue where the one member who went rogue was disowned and he made the competing company to try and beat the main Zildjian company in the market. This was such an insightful and well-done documentary, and I have a newfound respect for Sabian. Sabian is not a competitor of Zildjian, they are a branch of Zildjian that went in a different direction than what the main Zildjian company was doing. I am so grateful to Drumeo for putting this together. It gives me a new appreciation for Sabian, and now I look at them as an extension of Zildjian and not a direct competitor. They're like, co-existing in the marketplace and I think that's really cool.

I'm a truck driver from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. I've been to the Sabian factory several times to deliver and pick up products. I have had the tour and visited their museum, really nice people there. I've talked to some of the craftsmen who worked with, desinged, and hand made Neil Peart's cymbals. I have many pics on my phone of the Sabian factoy.

Dude. This was awesome. The 18" and 19" AAXplosion crashes changed my life when they came out and are still some of my favorite crashes to this day. Sabian makes some killer cymbals. Would absolutely also watch an entire series of just Todd testing out r&d cymbals, his amusement at all of them and their sounds made me smile. Loved this. Can't wait to send it to my Dad.

For those who may be confused by how each of these processes relate with the four main lines at Sabian… The bumping process is how HH and HHX cymbals are formed into a preliminary shape. While it is a machine, a human is controlling where the bumps occur, keeping it by “hand.” That press they show in comparison is for the AA and AAX line. That is their Automatic Anvil, hence the name. Prior to placing the cymbal in the press, they are back formed. For hammering, HH uses a small peen hammer and HHX uses that 1/2” large peen hammering machine that is run by “hand.” HHX complex combines both types of hammering. The AA line goes through a fully automated hammering machine with a small peen hammer and the AAX goes through a fully automated 1/2” large peen hammering machine. Both were not shown in this video, but are shown in Sabian’s factory tour video on their channel. Most of what was shown in this video was for the HH and HHX lines that is the most labor intensive. A huge thanks to the craftsman and workers at Sabian!

My first set of cymbals I bought were SABIAN and man do I love them. Got myself a fat ride, crash, splash, hats and another crash! I've always felt a strong connection with the SABIAN cymbals and I don't know why. Not that Zildjian, paiste or meinl are bad or anything but my love is for SABIAN first. I share a room in a house now and haven't been playing drums for many many years. Seeing this documentary has me in tears, I just want to get my old kit back and have a jam. It's not all bad, I can pick up an Ekit for not too much. But really the acoustic is where it's at.

Sabian used to produce the best ride cymbal that I've ever had the pleasure to play. The 20" El Sabor with a raw bell. I'm a die hard Zildjian guy and especially love their Dark K series. However... the ride in that series (or any other that I've played by Zildjian, Paiste, Meinl, etc...) Doesn't give you a washy large crash sound as well as an amazingly cutting/pingy bell. The El Sabor was a masterpiece, and I'm super glad to own it.
