For "Swan Song" Miyako combined two of her favorite classics: Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony"

Miyako is the composer and arranger. Asami, vocal, wrote the lyrics. Miyako was on track to a concert pianist or certified teacher. At 17/18 she decided to become a Rock/Metal guitarist. Got a guitar and a "How To" book, No Lessons!! Midori, guitar, dropped out of Pharmacy school and picked up the guitar at 20 yo. A common story with the Japanese Rock/Metal bands are the members with the same background of music at a very early age, then picking up the guitar, bass, drums in high school to get in a band. They chose to wear white because they very petite, Asami - 4'10"; Haruna - 4'9"; Miho and Midori - 5'; and Miyako - 5'2". By wearing white they felt the lights would reflect off the white allowing them to be clearly seen. Rock/Metal stage are usually dark.

Personally I think they will stick with white, its too iconic for them, plus it compliments what their music is all about. I think a change would be as weird as band-maid without maid outfits.

This is a MUST see experience for anyone who truly appreciates music, regardless of genre. Asami's vocals knocks it out of the park! Great react and one of the few I've seen with no pausing so good on you! These ladies are out of this world talent. Miyako (pianist / guitarist) is obviously a virtuoso but Haruna (drums) is the one who shines in this one (my opinion). Her timing and pace is impeccable! The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to. When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete. LB's songs will give you new discoveries and surprises for each song.

I think Mr Chopin would have approved of the piano intro…looks as though the pianist was also the guitarist..respect. Clear Iron Maiden influence with this song as well as a hint of Dragonforce, just to help things along. Japan once again reminding us that they have a strong part to play in the world of rock/metal, and no doubt receiving due recognition. A band that doesn't have a bad song in their canon. I see Frozen Serenade and the three 'E' songs are getting mentioned as the ones where they blend something else into the metal. The three Tokyo concerts (2019, 2020 and 2021 ) are a joy to watch, how they maintain the pace for coming up to 2 hours (as Haruna on drums) defeats me. The bass player and band founder Miho left for personal reasons (the death of her father really hit her hard, watch 'Journey To The Other Side' from 2019 for an emotional moment) and following a hiatus for babies for Miyako (the pianist/guitarist) and Asami (singer) + open auditions they've selected a KZbinr called Fami as the replacement. She is a great exponent of slap bass (loads of views of her doing Alien on her channel), so she might bring yet another sound to the mix. Midori is the other guitarist, who's taken up competitive bodybuilding as a side gig.

Haruna is the bomb on drums she's like a pocket nuke she beats the drums as if they stole her boyfriend and she wants him back. Miho the Bassist founded the band in 2016 with Haruna they had been together in a band called Destrose. they recruited Midori on Guitar and Miyako on Piano/Guitar then R&B Singer Asami to learn to sing Power Metal they have 4 albums, 3 EP's and 4 Live albums No bad songs and in 2018 they won the Metal Hammer Golden God award for best new band an award previously won by Anthrax and Avenged Sevenfold 2 other impressive bands. If you loved Miyako's Piano skills wait till you see this piece A Frozen Serenade kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo with Miyako breaking off to play Piano in middle of song as Midori plays the Acoustic guitar and snow falls onstage. I’m one who commented in another of your reaction videos (not Lovebites). I’d watched you occasionally over a couple of years and always enjoyed your videos. But I only really like to see what people think of music I like, because my listening history goes back 50 years, and it’s great to see people enjoying what I like to refer to as actual music, rather than the garbage that comes over the airwaves nowadays. That was until, by chance (via Nightwish, who I saw live 18 years ago) I came across Lovebites. It was then that, after about 12 months, I watched your reaction to “Holy War” and thought “great, now she’s going to do some more”….. but no! I was mortified. After all, us fans know what the first time reactor doesn’t know…that songs such as this are just a click away. It is no exaggeration to say that Lovebites are biologically incapable of mediocrity. They do excellent, divine or masterpiece…that’s it. Asami the vocalist trained to be a ballerina, but I think was told she was too tiny to do any serious roles. Instead she adds much needed elegance to the genre of Heavy Metal…not bad for a woman who, until Lovebites, barely knew metal existed and was by then an accomplished Jazz and RnB singer. It’s her ballet background that makes her so poised on her pedestal. And you probably didn’t notice (so please go back and look before replying 🙂) but as Miyako returned to the piano, Asami performed a perfect “Dying Swan” from Swan Lake. Please don’t wait so long for the next Lovebites reaction. The more exposure they get so their talent gets to be witnessed and enjoyed by more people. They deserve it. Most talented band this 63 year old has ever seen. Seriously.

There are several other songs that Miyako composed inspired by classical music, such as the fusion of metal and classical music incorporated in the intro. "Empty Daydream" (Live in Tokyo 2019) is by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Rachmaninov) "Moments Musicaux Op.16 No4" is incorporated into the intro. The "Empty Daydream Live in Tokyo 2019" song has the feel of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". The song was performed at the time by JENNIFER BATTEN, one of Miyako's top 5 favorite guitar heroes. There is also "Winds of Transylvania" (Live video). Beethoven Symphony No. 5, Op. 67 "Fate" is incorporated into the introduction.
