It's just bad game design at the end of the day. Dbd is one of the worst offenders when it comes to having fun at the expense of your opposition. Nothing is fun about being gen-rushed on a busted map, flashbanged/flashlight bullied. Nothing is fun about being tunnelled out at 5 gens or getting 4 man slugged til bleed out. When one side is winning, the other is usually having a miserable time. I really don't see any solutions to this either because this all stems from fundamental flaws in the game they should of addressed in it's early days of conception.

If they were just having fun and not sweating, they wouldn't have been so accurate. Meanwhile, the killer counters their play and the killer is sweating? I'm simply saying it's clear that they were actually trying, given their performance. I've got no problem with them saving each other, just that they are trying hard to do it in a way that people who are just having fun would. At least in my opinion.

That’s what I always explain to people when Lightborn is brought up (and this also applies to the other perks you listed). Their strength depends on what the killer wants in a perk. If you only want to win, that’s a horrible build. To win you should be bringing 3 or 4 gen slowdown perks. But if your goal is to have fun, that’s an amazing build. As long as you accept that you’ll be gen rushed at times, that build will make playing killer way more relaxing.

@t_gabiuel6058 Hey. I think the issue the commenter is trying to get across is the double standard (they can certainly correct me if I'm wrong). Survivors don't generally get the same amount of hate for bringing these types of builds (like sabo builds) as killers get for bringing gen regression and slowdown builds. Killers have also received quite a few nerfs in 2024, including, but not limited to, the gen kick/regression restriction and the lessened effect of mangled/hemorrhage. We've even seen killers nerfed to the ground (Skull Merchant and Chucky). I don't believe this is as big of an issue with seasoned players. However, it can be really difficult (and even discouraging) for newer players.

I do enjoy watching you. And I feel like that word "fun" gets thrown around as a defensive tool to such poor results. As you said, if they had fun, why call you sweaty or say ez when the one got out or call you a trash killer. And you know most inexperienced killers will either disconnect or feel so defeated when they can't figure out how to counter this, get teabagged at the exit gate, then get told they're trash or bad. I had a SWF squad yesterday. Flashlights, Exponential Boons, sabo toolboxes, the works. I was playing Legion and despite them constantly saboing my hooks, picking themselves up from the ground and t-bagging, I eventually got a 4K. I actually really enjoyed myself and the post-game chat was really wholesome. I play survivor and killer so I can usually appreciate both sides having fun. The only thing that tilts me is either killer or survivors being rude post game and spamming EZ like they have brain damage and it's the only thing they know how to write (even when, and actually more often when, they lost). When someone is being smug, everything that normally wouldn't bother me, suddenly does, I need to ignore the narcissists more 😂

My strategy when I encounter these kinds of squads is to tunnel the gen jockey. Sure you’re gonna have all the other monkeys trying to mess with you but that’s just free time they’re not on gens. Works out too if the jockey brought gen perks since all the others are probably gonna be running base repair speed. I had a group like this a few days ago. Tried to be a sabo bully squad. Unfortunately, i felt something was up when none of them readied up. I was on my Spirit for that match, so i just quickly swapped to my gen regression build just to be safe (eruption, overcharge, dragon's grip, and surge). I managed to keep their one designated gen jockey slugged and unable to finish a single gen the whole match cause he kept touching the gens with dragon's grip. And then after they wanted to call me sweaty for ruining their fun. I'm not stupid, i saw the 4 toolboxes and Eyrie offering, i figured it was a 3 or 4 man sabo squad.

Not even a killer main, DBD is literally a cycle of sweaty people making other people sweaty in games - then they moan when other people play sweaty. If you're bringing perks specifically to wind up a killer, or perks as a killer to make the match unbearable for a survivor... it just makes the other side do exactly the same so you can't complain when you come up against a sweaty killer or survivor. So glad I play on PS5 without end game chat, avoids all the crap you see on PC from sore loser. As you say, just play the game to have fun - that is all (plus survivors tend to be the most toxic in my experience, simply as there are 4 survivors and 1 killer a game.... meaning 4 times the likelihood of playing with a toxic player).
