SABOTAGE! Austria to Slovakia - P2T EP06

The sixth installment of my 5000 mile solo road trip to the Balkans on board the mighty BMW R1250 GS Adventure.
In this episode i self sabotage my bike and get very hot indeed.
Permission to Torque is a Mental Health movement set up to show others that you "get it" by displaying a discrete symbol for others to take comfort in. Its not about sitting around in a circle feeling sorry for yourself, its about shared experience and getting out there to find out what makes us happy - this is the aim of my trip and why I am sharing it on KZbin, the good days and the inevitable bad ones too.

And 3 weeks later I was doing my first solo Europe ride down through France, Belgium, Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and then finally Italy, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done so Thankyou!

I found on my last big trip that I didn’t allow myself enough time to escape and relax I traveled too many miles in too few days and basically saw nothing and came home needing another holiday I felt tired for ages after my holiday lesson in my case learned less = more ❤

I remember doing a road trip to Germany some years ago on my Repsol for the entire trip temperatures were up in the mid/high 30s I was wearing one piece black leathers fuck it was so hot, following year on 6 day trip to France and it rained for 5 days, would sooner have hot weather than rain but I know how you felt. 1:30 No. No no no no no no NO. You cannot go there and Not partake of the European breakfast. Every place has a different take on the idea. I try really hard to avoid having the same thing for breakfast every day at home. But when I’m travelling the options are limitless. Norway, if you choose to leave early, they will have cheese, crackers, apples, and sometimes cold hard boiled eggs wrapped in a cloth waiting in the dimmed dining room. But sometimes there’s smoked salmon, caviar, all the lunatic pastries, ten different fruit, olives, half a dozen cheeses including soft goat’s and tasty treats you can’t even identify. Dude, if you’re feeling depressed, start your day differently each day. It’s a great upper - along with very strong coffee. Next time, capture her flippin’ smile. One of those has been known to last me a fortnight!!👀🧐😎😜 Peace

Feel you with the heat, I was in america last summer we went through Joshua Tree to Laughlin via the Mojave Desert and it got up to 47 degrees Celsius, I had black jeans as well - it was horrific 😂

Some more lovely roads to drive. Don't worry too much about your age, I'm 70 in March and have a European trip planned in June. Mainly Austria and Switzerland but have to pass through France and Germany. Most days the plan is around 200 to 250 miles but there will be some around 300 miles., just allow for plenty of time and don't try and rush things too much. I do have some days planned as rest days off of the bike although they will keep me busy. My only concession to age is I now ride a Can Am Spyder trike as big tourers were getting too heavy when stopped and smaller bikes have a too uncomfortable riding position. When it starts getting so hot I find that opening my visor helps cool me down, I do have a flip front helmet and often ride with the front up in hot weather, there is a sun visor for sunny days. Having an adjustable screen also helps with air flow. Good luck and keep up the wind therapy.
