I hate to tell you, Dan, but now that LJ has started to grow horns, it will require very painful surgery that entails cutting into his skull to remove them. De-horning has to be done within the first couple of weeks after the calves are born. All you could do now is keep the ends filed smooth and blunt. Or have horn caps mounted on the ends to keep them blunt. Please, before you try anything, talk to your vet. 💖🙏💖 In Bri's defense, it's not easy to tell hens and roosters apart when they are tiny chicks. When you hatch out or buy from a store, you take the chance of having an abundance of roosters! 💖😂💖

Good morning Dan and Lou. I bought 11 hens (pullets) and didn't have any roosters. One of those hens started acting like a rooster and started fighting at times with the hens. After I got a rooster she stopped. Oh I have 3 roosters in a large run. They're brothers I hatched out. They sparred at first but get along now but their run is 10×40 so they can avoid each other. My opinion on the chickens. The two of them make a pac at night they wait till they are on the outside to bring up anything they can’t runaway from. So in the AM and they get out you are seeing them express frustration from the night before. 😉

Hey Dan, Your property is looking great with all the grass mowed and trimmed! My cows used to chase me when I used to drag limbs to my fire pile too; it's so funny when they do that, lols! Hey, if you dont mind me making a suggestion for LJ? ... LJ's ears may be getting a little sunburnt having pink skin under the white hair so maybe you could apply some blockout to save having problems in a few years time. I think I've heard on other farm channels that hens will establish a alpha hen in a flock, especially if there's no roosters. So that might be what the chickens are doing. Just trying to determine who's going to be the lead hen.

I don't know if you've been updated but Lester went live at around midnight an 2:30am their time to infirm us that Oakie is very sick and had to take him and Ernie in case they need him for possible blood transfusion to Texas A&M where Voodoo was. Lester, don’t be worried so much about calling the animals wrong names…it just means u love ur animals that much and they are always on ur mind. If people say anything then same on them. I hope they choose to make alpacas potty place away from their shed..cause when it rains it could go into the shed from runoff. If that’s the case…maybe raise the area of the shed with dirt or sand and u could make a trench drain or some kind of French drain to keep water out of the shed for they will always have a clean place to lay if they want. Dan,you should get fresh stool samples from your animals to make sure they don't have parasites. ISS just lost Okie and Erny is very sick because of parasites. With the flooding the parasites could have been spread around the hill. Better safe than sorry. It's good that you keep things mowed,everything is looking awesome 😊 Your lil bull was so playful 😊
