Y'all...if you think I'm coming for Sabrina, think again. I support her and want the best for her. Just because I may have differing opinions than yours on how that whole drama played out, doesn't mean I'm saying she's wrong or deserves any hate. If you think yourself an adult, then you should know that not everyone needs to agree on every opinion and it's totally okay to agree to disagree here. If you can't conduct yourselves properly or respectfully in the comments I have no problem telling you.

The album was supposed to be released last year but island records didn’t have a CEO so she would have to promote the album herself so she waited

Skin wasn’t supposed to be a response to Olivia but about griffin Gluck, the racist and ableist ex she had… but it became about Olivia considering the timing. I agree with u tho skin wouldn’t have been an appropriate response to that situation 😔

I think overall I definitely agree with your assessment about “Skin!” It’s clear you’re commentary was rooted in a desire for Sabrina’s wellbeing. BILAB is definitely a better response song and I wish she would’ve taken some time to write and release this song-and she would’ve gotten much less backlash and garnered more sympathy and overall popularity. Hindsight’s 20/20 though!

Apparently her feelings weren't valid. You say she shouldn't have done skin because it fanned the flames that someone else started. Why should the victim hold her tongue until the attackers are done. She didn't need to gather empathy and you are victim blaming saying she was passive aggressive. How would you feel in that situation death threats, harassment, being called out your name? Why was everyone else allowed to use their talent and not her. No, she needed to take a seat, not say anything, not defend herself because people don't care about her feelings and she deserved what she got. I'm sorry I went off on a rant but that really upset me.

lol chill I never said she shouldn't have said anything at all or that she should have taken the backlash at her sitting down. I said I wish she had taken a moment to pause and gather her feelings first before releasing a song so quickly. and the same way I said that her feelings on the situation were valid is the same way I'll tell you your opinion and my opinion are valid. we don't have to agree and I'm fine with that.

@@JustSayingNessa I understand what you were saying but it came off as victim blaming people who are being harassed and attacked shouldn't have to take a minute to express themselves. I'm attacking you, please don't feel that I am. I just don't like when people tell the victim your not going to get sympathy or empathy by expressing yourself. I take it personally. I in know way think you want her to get hate or be hated. Skin was a great song to me because it addressed her feelings in the moment and she's allowed that. Validating feelings isn't and shouldn't be convenient for other people to emphasize or sympathize with. I do respect your opinion, I'm just expressing mine. And if you do respond to this ( you don't have to,if you don't want to) please don't put an "lol" because it makes me feel like you're being condescending, not saying you are. Again not attacking just expressing and explaining how it came off to me. Hope you have a good rest of the night.

@@kristarahueston7829 I see where you're coming from and I feel you may have been triggered by something I said in my commentary that I had no intention of you inferring the way that you did. I don't know your life so I don't know what internally and personally you've had to deal with. I was and maintain being light hearted about this (not meaning to be condescending). I think we just have 2 points of view on this and though I felt my commentary was pretty straight forward, if not, thank you for watching anyway.

I agree that Because I Liked a Boy is a much better response than skin. I personally think that because (until this album) Sabrina has been known for being extremely private about her personal life, she may have not been comfortable being more direct at the time. But after over a year of constant hate and after deciding to open up a bit more with this album she may have decided it was finally time to really share her side honestly. I think everyone involved are great at what they do, I just wish the media and the fans would be kind and understanding that there are so many nuances to relationships, especially when they are so young. She also has gone on record saying that Skin wasn't about any one person in particular, and I think that's worth noting. Having been a long-time fan and basically having watched her grow up, I don't think she's the kind of young woman who would ever pit women against each other. So while it certainly could be assumed that Skin was directed at Olivia, I don't believe that was Sabrina's intention. I think she was just pointing out that the internet is a wild and dangerous place even when the "facts" they think they have are almost all assumptions. There are also other fan theories about what Skin is about that have nothing to do with the whole situation, and we likely will never know the truth behind it. Anyways, long-winded opinion over. I'm always glad to see people appreciating her incredible talent, just wanted to share my thoughts!

i'd definitely consider myself a fan, maybe not a superfan/stan, of hers. and are you referring to 'because I liked a boy' or 'skin'? I know it was mentioned that 'skin' was about all the noise of people talking about her over months and in the end they won't get under her skin, and like I said in the video my main issue was the timing of its release. but feel free to let me know what you think it's about.
