Where former Disney Channel stars such as Hilary Duff,Miley Cyrus and many others were signed to have cookie cutter clean music. But I'm glad she signed to Island Records under the Universal Music Group cause she can be more fearless in her lyrics than when she was signed to Hollywood Records.

To those who claim she doesn't write her own songs, compare the songs her collaborators (Julia Michaels, Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff, etc. all talented people for sure) have worked on for other artists to Sabrina's songs. None of them have that specific wit, humor, frankness, attitude. I can only believe that comes from Sabrina herself. And to those that try to label her as just another manufactured pop star, a puppet going through planned motions (I guess that's what they mean by "industry plant"), I again point to her humor. Sabrina is FUNNY! You can't fake funny, you can't manufacture it or become it by predetermined plan. That's her genuine self out there, part of her genuine magnetism and talent. I watched Sabrina on Girl Meets World, but was barely aware of her music career (I probably thought "all the Disney girls do music, so I guess she does, too") until I stumbled across the video for her song "Why." I was startled at how good it was and started paying attention to all her subsequent releases. I was one of those people commenting at every video and video reaction 'she's so talented/why isn't she a big star?' That's why, as so many others here have already said, it's so satisfying to see how she's exploded this year. We know that it's deserved.
