I also visited USA and I was saddened. I could not believe how neglected USA Citizens are by the USA Government. The richest country in the World, were 1% of the population own 90% of the Country's wealth. Yet USA citizens generally had poor Civic Infrastructures with many roads neglected, bridges needing repairs, building being held up by scaffolds. And I could not get over the poor Civic Services, where hospital care and medicine costs send thousands to the streets. As a result of Government neglect on their citizens, many USA Citizens who were not happy and many were angry ... as a result, many USA Citizens were overweight. Yes China was in wars for more than 100 years until 1949. First China was in 2 opium wars w/ u k. (western imperial colonial times). Then China had war with France. Uk illegally changed the border between China and India. They cut a large chunk of land to India (but India prefers to use its former master's illegal map as legit). That is why China and India still have land dispute. The most recent deadly one was in 2020. With France, China had to cut a large chunk of land to Vietnam. At gun point. France and U k burned down the imperial summer palace of Qing Dynasty in Beijing. Then they looted a very large amount of Chinese cultural treasures and relics. Oh, fight with Russia, Russia took a large chunk of land from China --- this land is now called Vladivostock. Vladivostock was the ancestral land of Qing Dynasty of China. Then China was in war with 8 countries at the same time. These 8 countries all wanted to cut a piece of China. It was like Russia fighting with NATO right now but China was many times worse than today's Russia. During this 8 countries war, Russia took more land from China in Xinjiang (northwest) and HeilongJiang(northeast China). China did take back quite a lot of lands from Russia but still lost some lands to Russia. China had to sign many unequal treaties with these 8 foreign countries. One of very well known unequal treaty is the lost of Hong Kong. China fell into western imperial colonizations of all these foreign vvestern countries. Then China was in war with Jpan but not as big as the second time. Then China had civil war with KMT which is the party in Taiwan island right now. Then Jpn invasion... That was when China had war with Jpan. That latest war was the most brutal cruel of all. Please do some reading on Unit 731 during Jpn attack. The story of Nanjing massaxxxe still brings tears and pain to people in China. Jpn annihilated 300,000+ people in 1 city alone (Nanjing city) in less than 2 months. The total number of deaths and destruction caused by Jpn invasion are too large to count. Jpn illegally took a lot of Chinese culture relics during this time like large Budhist statues from Longmen Ghettos in Henan, China . To this day, Japan pays $0.00 penny to compensate China. After the Jpn war was over, China was back to civil war again with KMT. During KMT rule, China was like a vassal state of u s a. Many Chinese people were sent to Europe during w w 2 to do the work that Europe people didn't want to do. Please do some reading on Labor Corp. Some Chinese people were sent to US and Canada to do very dangerous work that Americans and Canadian didn't want to do to build transcontinental railways. This railway helped the US economy grew from there. Instead of treating these Chinese railway workers with fairness and appreciation, Chinese people in US and Canada faced tremendously huge discrimination. In order to have the right to be Canadian citizens, many Chinese Canadian men joined Canadian army to fight in Europe during w w 2, and they were put in secret and dangerous positions in the army. These Chinese men were called silent heroes but were totally ignored, never mentioned, never commemorated at all by Canadian government all the way until Chinese Canadian spoke up and demanded for these Chinese heroes' contribution recognition in 2019. Please read more about Chinese Canadians of Force 136. Have you heard of Chinese Exclusive Act in u s a? Have you heard of Head Tax in Canada? It was like slavery in a different way. Chinese people had endured a lot of pain, tears, agony, broken families, a lot of unfair treatments, discrimination, suppression, exploitation, attacks, insults, and humiliation. Thanks to the Chinese Communist Party for saving China out of these invasions, colonization, exploitation, discrimination, unfair treatments, and humiliation. What China and Chinese people have achieved today are all from Chinese people's tremendous determination, hardwork, contribution, dignity, and sacrifices. It is not easy at all. And China as the world 2nd largest economy today still faces discrimination, suppression, and bullying from some countries (you know which ones). China and Chinese people still quietly work hard with their heads down with their dignity to make their country and citizens better and still don't want to start a war with the hegemon, the west. War is what u s a wants. China would not fall for that unless.... Yes, China has come a very long and painful way.

Hi Sabrina, you are absolutely spot on about these Chinese values. Even here in Chinese-majority (76%) Singapore, family is so important. As for education, parents here in Singapore spend an insane amount of money on tuition classes, especially in math and science. And yes, I personally know of a few Chinese Singaporean mums who have quit high paying jobs or gone on sabbatical to coach their children especially during the PSLE (Primary school final year) and GCE ‘O’ Level (High school final year) examinations. Many of these values you mentioned (family, education, etc) have its roots in Confucianism. The East Asians - Chinese (including Taiwanese, Macanese, Hong Kongers) Singaporean-Chinese, South Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese, Mongolians all share these similar Confucian values. It is not surprising that the 2018 international OECD PISA competence test scores (for Math, Science and Language) of 15 year old students from countries around the world, East Asian nations dominate the top 5 spots in the world ranking. China is number 1 and Singapore is number 2. The other two are Japan and South Korea. Estonia was the European country in the top 5. So yes you are right about the emphasis Chinese parents place on education. In East and SE Asian cultures, people don’t “?tell it as it is”. This is to ‘save face’ as well as to ‘keep the harmony’. Both are very important in East Asian countries. Harmony and harmonious relationships with everyone is a big thing in East and SE Asian societies. The other thing the Chinese place a very high value on is health and the kinds of foods they eat. Foods are divided into Yin (cold/ cool), Neutral and Yan (hot/ heat-y/ warm) foods. TCM is followed in varying degrees by all Chinese people. Health and food are intertwined in the Chinese way of eating. It is inculcated in us since childhood. The adage - You are what you eat - the Chinese take it very seriously. 😂

So many people go to other countries for jobs etc. But as a global world, people go to different countries to work too, many foreigners also work in China too, people can think in that way in a positive way.

Chinese Culture: The values that set them apart. ❤Family, ❤Education❤Be kind and Respectful to others
@jzeng2022 Жыл бұрын
Chinese culture has a profound influence on Chinese people's values. The biggest difference between Chinese values and Westerners is that Westerners strongly advocate individual freedom, while Chinese generally accept the values that collective interests are higher than individual interests. This is also the centralized social system that China has implemented for thousands of years. There is no distinction between good and bad, and the one that suits you is the best.
Not just individualism. The western societies are hyper individualistic. All the problems that happening in the western societies is because of this. No society can survive longer through this hyper individualism.

In China, personal behavior can affect your family's reputation in the place of residence, and even your surname in some places. You represent not only your personal qualities, but also your family and other people in the clan. Just like what you said about the Chinese family concept, the family is not only what you value, but others also regard you and your family as a whole.

mianzi, its interesting that you mentioned it, this is very IMPORTANT for large population lliving together. You show respects to others, and they shall do the same to you. Before freedom there will be a widely recognized rule, based on that rule people decide the same public values, and then based on these values people can find out their own piece of colour and freedom. I am really tired of hearing young Chinese yelling on the internet about how not free this country is, I mean, if freedom always came with mass shooting or knife crime or drug problems, I would rather be living in prison. BTW I am from Xinjiang, I knew what will happen when you letting religion getting too much freedom. We really suffered decades under terrorism raised by the West.

My China definitely had changed. 1000s%, 360degrees... !!! But that statement "Of course everyone has mom and dad" wasn't a reality some 20+ years ago. People now in China are very fortunate that the country is getting wealthier. They have a very capable government to provide better quality of life, improve the country's living conditions, lift millions of people out of extreme poverty. As a Chinese that really gives me hope and pride! Back in the late 80's My brother organized some of his friends from church, went to Beijing every summer to help out some orphanage to care for those unfortunate neglected little children. There were thousands of orphans all over the country, some were mentally and physically disable. These orphanages were under funded and lack of support from the govt at that time. The scenes were very depressing and definitely not pretty. I'm so glad things have changed !! I heard the situations is getting a lot better now, but still the govt needs to do more. China is not perfect, not even close. China still have lots of social problems, but I'm very confident that the government will continue to do more. I know they will. I wish someday, you will be interviewed by major mainstream media such as CNN or BBC and tell them what you think of China and Chinese people. Make sure that will be live broadcast rather than just recording and edit later to fit their agenda.

Id love to move to China - I have always loved & appreciated eastern culture & philosophy - I get acupuncture in China Town in NYC I spend a lot of time there getting delicious food & just enjoying the older Chinese who stretch in the park - I love the history of how China invented paper & so many other things - I find that they r highly proud & hard working - in my neigborhood I c the older Chinese collecting cans even tho they have $ they r always busy cleaning & making things nicer - I even asked one lady who owns her house in Brooklyn but likes getting cans off the street - it says a LOT China deserves a lot of respect from the west but they won't get it b cuz America is highly jealous & angry that their economic model is more successful & that China is building where they bomb - it is a sad reality that the US & their puppets r targeting China & I continue to educate where I can so thanks 4 ur videos

You are right. Chinese people have a sense of responsibility. After marriage, they should take care of their parents, spouse’s parents, and even immediate family members. I like your channel very much, I subscribed. greetings from China.
