My own way of dealing with it would be to counter-accuse Libby of being a witch - or at least of lying. Get into the judgmental holier than thou Pilgrim way of thinking and accuse Libby of deceitfulness, vanity, slothfulness, envy and lust, that she's lying to avoid having to work, and that she's lusting after that boy she had her eye on and was envious of Jenny because the boy found solace in her honest and simple nature and that it was all tied to her vanity. Really give them an experience of the judgemental image so that they can feel even more shaken when they find out there was no witch card.

Funny, according to Sabrina the Salem puritans never got it right. According to Harry Potter, there was one witch that quite enjoyed the trials, and even went out of her way to be tried multiple times, under different identities. She ultimately would cool the fire down and escape unscathed.

Harvey clearly was a believer of the stereotypical way witches are portrayed in media, he probably read Wizard of Oz and thought witches all looked like the Wicked Witch of East, that they were all green skinned women that melted when water is thrown on them

There's no witches in real life. In the real Salem Witch Trails, they all innocent. They just wanted to help. Being different is not allowed in those days. Matter of fact, being different from each other could be a blessing. Cause God created all of you, with talents and gifts. That's truly made you, after He broke the mode. Everyone is different from each other. But back then, they really did killed the innocents, for being unique.

Wicca isn't witch craft, there are Wiccans who practice witchcraft, but also those who don't. Wicca is a belief like other pagan faiths, witchcraft is a practice that can be done regardless of religion (though some religions don't take kindly to practioners of it)

You didn't even have to be that "different". At some point, they were giving out rewards for reporting witches. So neighbors were just turning against one another for monetary gain.

They gave them all cards saying villagers so most if them could prove their innocence easily. Pure chance that Jenny threw hers out.

Well, the teachers assert that every card they gave out said “townsperson,” so maybe Sabrina’s magic passively affected her card so that it changed after she received it from the teacher
