A curtain is a genius idea to create a divider and way cheaper than the dry wall idea I originally had.

Thank you for sharing this. It was extremely helpful. I was curious as to which Marley you purchased? I visited the site but I don’t know the difference between the price points.

We purchased the Rosco Adagio Dance Floor Here: www.greatmats.com/dance-flooring/rosco-adagio-cut-perlf.php We thought this was best to accommodate tap as well

Excellent video!! Thanks for sharing. One question: the rail you put under the mirrors at the bottom; could I use another rail (attached to the studs) on top of the top row of mirrors?
@SabrinaUrban3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't think putting it on top of the mirrors would really help as it wouldn't be super secure or blend in well. I definitely recommend something more sturdy for the top to keep it pinned against the wall.

Love this! What a fun project to do with your mom. I'm hoping to do a similar one with mine. I'm curious about the price breakdown... If you happen to recall!

This is awesome. I have 2 questions : How much did this cost total? And second since the floors r elevated have you used ramps of sorts for transition or just let the marley flow over the floor onto the cement?
@SabrinaUrban3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I'm not sure on the specific number, but it was roughly between $3,000-$3,500. For your second question, we did not have any overflow of marley. We cut it right off at the edge of the wood.

Thank you so much for responding . I am starting this project:) How has the taped wood boards held up so far?

This is so cool. Thanks for sharing. I need to do this at my home for a dance space . Just one question, did you add a trim or border to the two sides that are not against the wall? Curious if the floor moves or stays put
@SabrinaUrban3 жыл бұрын
Im so glad it helps! We were planning on adding a border, but as we used it we realized we didn't need it. It hasn't moved at all and the weight of the marley keeps it in place.

Did you anchor it to the wall or floor at all?

How is the gap between the new flooring and wall sealed or is it just sitting above the floor but not attached to the wall?
@SabrinaUrban3 жыл бұрын
It is not attached to the wall, so there is no sealer. However, there is no gap between the floor and the wall as we pushed it straight up against the wall :)

I really want to do this but where did you put all your garage stuff because we don’t have much space to put ours :(
@SabrinaUrban3 жыл бұрын
That was definitely our biggest hurdle! Honestly, a lot of it we sold/still selling and the rest was either organized/donated/tossed.

This is amazing. I want to get this done in my house but my partner is worried about parking the cars outside. Sigh

I built a workout space in my garage that my daughter uses for her dance practice. Instead of a floating floor (as here), I used horse stall mats (purchased at tractor supply). You can park the car on top of this flooring, but it is still cushioned for the joints. Admittedly, not as springy as the dance flooring, but may serve the needs/desires of you both
@SabrinaUrban21 күн бұрын
Did you end up building it?
