I'm from Pakistan. But I believe Sachin did the right thing here. Give them the medicine of their own. Still remember how these Australians stole the Hobart Test against Pakistan in 1999 when Langer refused to walk. And I'm damn sure Sachin was there in that famous Sydney test in this same tour of 2008 when Australians shamelessly stole that game with the umpires.

I always find it amazing that people call people cheats for not walking. It seems if you are born in one country, then everyone else is a racist or a cheat. I love it if a player walks, but if he's not given out, then you are not required to walk. The fault here lies with the umpire, not Sachin. Very few of us Aussies ever walk, maybe only Gilly.

And How anyone just expected to see him walk in a competitive game like cricket. Where is a basic competition about taking a wicket or not. Even The main thing is not getting out & trying to save it is the competition. How can you say the spirit of the game is everywhere, then bowling faster is also the exclusion of spirit! It was not like weird cricket action like mankadding How can anyone expect to see a batsman walking & saying it’s the spirit of the game! Wow!! "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Jokes aside, almost every batsman in any country must have done it at least once in their careers, doesn't mean they're all "cheats" and "disgrace" and don't deserve the credit they get. Sachin has, on several occasions, walked off and has also been a victim of poorest of umpiring blunders. Moreover, calling a regular nick "massive" is also an example of cheating, but it doesn't make robelinda a cheat.

I have followed Sachin's innings throughout his career. While a great player he did play some questionable innings. Here he didn't walk despite being out. There was a match against Sri Lanka in 1997 I think where he scored 110 in first inning of 50overs match. India scored around 220 something. That was a low score against in form Sri Lankans during that time. Dude was batting in 90s and didn't even try to hit boundaries during death overs. Just wanted to finish his century. Result Sri Lanka easily chased the total. Contrast that to world cup 96 match against Australia where he scored a blistering 90 chasing a 250 something total. Now that was unselfish innings.
