The problem with season 9 was, that they decided to throw the previous 8 seasons out the window and change the show in to a full out teanie commedy. The show knew how to hit you so hard it knocked your socks off. Season 9 replaced any possibly emotional things with more sex jokes >.>

From the credits it appears he directed a couple of them but the writing was just so bad. It was all the neat puns from the height of the show exaggerated into absurdity.
