Nice looking Dolmar 112 saw there. Just scored a 112 recently from an elderly gentleman going into care. Couple of hours with rags n the compressor and it has come up tidy indeed. Fitted with a genuine Dolmar 18 inch barand a 3/8 chain. Its in nice condition but not quite that nice.

We had one of these saws, I think it was 112. Purchased it new. We never had a problem with it.

Hello Matt. Greetings from Wales 🙂 I love the orignal Dolmar 120 from the 1970's. They are are a lovely running engine and same bore/stroke as the 119. Interestingly I prefer the 122 as it was a longer stroke engine by 5mm and has the same 61cc displacement but feels much bigger when cutting with it. Kind regards Rob 🙂

Good morning Frantisek 😀 Yes, she is a very pretty saw. Do you know how long they made the Special Edition for? I can't find any information for how long it was produced. Kind regards Rob

@@stridebaad1219 Some of the 112 saws were made in the colors "black and white" 1985/86 for 4 months. The other saws 112 and 114 were made in "silver and black" colors such as "Silverstar" or "Profi Star". These silver versions of the saws were not special models, but for sale in retail chains and hardware stores instead of specialized retailers. 112 was structurally identical to the Sachs-Dolmar 50 with a yellow cover and black hoods and a starter. 112 was designed for "agriculture".

@@frantisekpistek2884 Hi Frantisek.. thank you very much for the information. I do not know the Dolmar 50 model !. Was that model made by Makita? So the Black/white models are rarer than the silver? Kind regards Rob 😃
@@stridebaad1219 Makita bought Dolmar in the early 90's, If the saw has "West Germany" on it, it predates Makita.

That's a beauty. Do you still run the saw at 25 to 1, or do you use 50 to 1 with modern oil? I'm looking to get a 112, always wanted one.

Hello Robin.. Greetings from Wales Sorry I missed this message earlier. Yes I run all of my saws on now on the most expensive fully synthetic oil. I mix strictly at 50:1 and add 10% for safety - so a true 45:1 ratio. I use tnhis on all my engines other than some 1950's engines. Kind regards Rob 🙂

@@stridebaad1219 thanks for your reply, I now have two 112's both working well and pulling 18" chains, I have been using mineral at 25 to 1 but will try one on 45/1 on a modern synthetic. Love these old classic saws, for a few pounds, the 112 totally out performs my Stihl ms211. All the best. Rob

Did he say 4 stroking sound 🤔

2 strokes can 4 stroke at times. That is how you know you have it tuned right.
