If you’re trying to just get through the levels I guess you can say it’s an easy game. But if you’re actually trying to Ace and collect enough points in for a first place in every level then you’ll certainly get an intense challenge. Just a tip, don’t buy a game just to breeze through it, that’s not what games are for.
@neilmiranda67394 жыл бұрын
In one of my previous comments, I talked about recently getting all perfect relics on Crash Bandicoot 4. I honestly found that game to be chore for about the last half of it. However, this feels like the perfect amount of challenge. As you said, easy enough to breeze thru for those who don't care about extras. However, there is a bit more resistance for those wanting to Ace all levels. I'm really enjoying this game so far. Control can sometimes feel a bit sluggish, particularly on auto scrolling levels. However, that's a minor complaint. This game is very well done. One thing I commend the developers on is hiding collectibles in fair places. You do have to pay attention but it never feels cheap. In Crash 4, I lost track of how many times a box was placed completely off screen. Apples and Oranges, I know. But that game is fresh in my mind and I can't help but compare the two.
@thedon20054 жыл бұрын
I understand what you’re saying...Yes, there are completionists out there who want to collect everything and ace every level...On the other hand, there are also people who don’t see the point in collecting everything and just want to get through each level as fast as possible.

Animations and movement make this game too hard... but... the game is too easy. So, in summary, the reviewer simply didn't like that the game doesn't work like every other single platformer, but he also wanted this game to somehow redefine the genre... End of day, GB still hasn't figured out how to review games.
@KravenVanDrakken4 жыл бұрын
@Rick Zel if the review is a puzzle, on itself, of conflicting ideas that are mutually exclusive, and thus, unachievable; its a bad review. Problem with GB reviews is they feel to be put together by getting the opinion of several people, at several points of times throughout several decades, from alternate universes. There is a certain degree of cognitive dissonance in them that makes them almost interesting... but yeah, their reviewers just don't have a good methodology/framework to work with. I usually watch them just to find self-defeating arguments to justify their randomly generated numbered scores. BTW, mostly troll-xhagerating there, but... yeah... their reviews are bad 🤣😂

There are plenty of platformers that can cater to a younger audience but also provide challenge in certain areas without going overboard. Think Mario Galaxy, or Odyssey.
@sm59254 жыл бұрын
@@reesefleece while I agree somewhat, there are also games that were created with specific instruction to be easy and accessible with a low skill ceilling, while also proving to be successful. Think Lego games, Minecraft, Little Big Planet and Animal Crossing. There is also a slightly different target market with the games you specified and the ones I did, in that the games I listed are aimed towards an even younger and more casual demographic.
@reesefleece4 жыл бұрын
@@sm5925 That is true, but minecraft and LBP can be hard too, (I don't remember how much of that was from the main story or just the user levels for LBP). I think the best way to do it is to make this hardness optional. Think special or bonus chellenges or areas. For example in minecraft think the nether plus the final boss, while casuals may never even know those exist.
@sm59254 жыл бұрын
@@reesefleece I mean yeah adding in hard sections is something that of course can be done if the development time and resources aren't over-extended. I suppose there is a balancing act in that regard. If a director asks the developers to make an easy game, like Yoshi's Wooly World or New Super Mario Bro U, then that becomes the primary objective and ultimately what I am saying is that there is a demographic that will be drawn to that primary objective and spend money (the younger and more casual consumers). If, by chance, it is convenient to add in some hard parts, then by all means. In the case of this video review, I believe the game caters just fine to its target market.

No offense meant but I just wanted to say I disagree with your negatives here. Well, except for the story. It was very simple but it still had that LBP charm so it was fine. I felt the platforming and controls were very precise, and not floaty at all. And I’ve played a ton of platformers since they’re my favorite genre. The only thing I can think is that maybe you weren’t aware that Sackboy can either hover after a jump or just do a regular jump? Maybe you used the hover most every time? I’m not sure. But the amount of precise movement you can get through stringing jumps, dives, and hovers together was one of my favorite parts of playing through the game. And the game could definitely get difficult. I would say there’s a steady curve, but from world 4 on it seemed plenty difficult to me. Nothing unmanageable, but a good difficulty. Did you play through the Wonderplane bonus world or the Ripsnorter level that tasks you with going through every Knitted Knight Trial back to back on a single life? But yeah, I just disagree with those and thought I’d share.

The only complains I'd have about this game is when you mess up they don't really give you much time to breathe to like. recover? like. if I get hit I'll still be getting hit again shortly after and then losing my points/lives. I wish like. instead of relying on the checkpoint to recover your health and stuff it could just wait a little bit or replenish a bit from like. collecting points or something. other than that I really really really love this game so far and I'm really proud of Sumo Digital's improvements... like. not only gameplay wise but also? their designs in this game reflect wayyy more and represent Media Molecule's designs than the third game.

This game doesn't look to me as a LBP game, it's like another platformer skinned as LBP. LBP used to be about "contraptions" and mechanical imaginery, even the killable monsters had this "brain" or weak point that unassembled them. The bubbles were just a mere thing to gain more points if you wanted but you didn't ever stop to collect all bubbles on screen, but now in the A Big Adventure they always seem to be breaking boxes and other things to collect all the bubbles, just to artificially extend the game length.

It's obvious that whoever wrote this never played LBP. What made Little Big Planet good, was the create mode, on which many thousands of people have made millions of amazingly creative levels / machines / stories, etc. The single player was just a quick run through for build materials. The fact that there isn't even a mention of this doesn't surprise me. Sony realized that many thousands of people that played LBP every day to create stuff, weren't buying any other games, so there was no more money to be made on all those people. That is also the reason why they unplugged PlayStation Home. The moment you have a platform where people are content to spend time on, without making a lot of money on it, you are in direct competition with yourself. After the death of PlayStation Home and LBP, all that gamers had left to do was buy more and more "barely fun" games, which are easily monetized, since all there is to do on those games is grind or pay. Everyone that spent hundreds of hours on PlayStation Home and LBP are now just going from game to game, trying to fill the empty void inside that was left after taking away any creative outlet. This is why we'll never see a game that allows you to create your own levels and share them with others again. They destroyed the old LBP servers first and deliberately ruined LBP 3 in a way that actually destroyed all the levels made on LBP 1 & 2. Seeing this stupid linear platform game carry the LBP skin, pisses me the fcc off. We should all tell them to stick this crap up their assholes and give us back the creative awesomeness that it once was. *mic drop*

After playing with ' it takes 2 ' with my GF it is uneasy to find another game so nice to play with... I wish the concept was kept for another adventure game ...

So guttered my Playstation 3 broke I really wanna go back and play the originals. Never been a big fan of lbp3, it didn't have the same flare as lbp2 and karting did (never played the first one sorry). About Sackboy: A Big Adventure, I don't think it will bring it back as much as I expected. Different camera angles, animations, models, music and of course the fact that Steven Fry doesn't narrate it. I don't think this is worth it unless you're not after a nostalgia trip. Also Sackboy shouldn't have a voice this isn't right and I don't like it.

I was playing the game with my son but I don’t thinks he likes it. All he ever says is “Dad you need to let me go, the crash wasn’t your fault.” Weird.

Ignore those wonky animations, add amazing music to this game, great family time it’s 9/10 not as perfect as 10/10 Mario Odyssey but at least it’s not trying to copy Mario

Sony was smoking meth if they thought I was paying $70 for this game , I’m waiting until it’s $40 at the absolute most , what were they think lmao they really tried to squeeze every buck out of those ps5 release titles 😂 I haven’t bought a single one at full price nor will I

A fantastic couch co-op platformer. Definitely 9/10 game for co-op play. Also, I found it much more challenging than the reviewer, and this may be within the co-op experience that I found varied and fair challenges throughout. This is coming from one who adores platformers such as Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Played with both young kids and my wife. It’s a blast!
