Ah yes. XI The only game ever which i bought 2 copies of, because i couldnt have 2 saves on 1 card. I remember having missed one Fygg, and being 10 levels above the recommended when facing Corvus, but it was fun. It gets a lot of hate because there are no party members with a good backstory, but i always thought that was kinda great. I got to name em myself, design em myself, make up my own story, which i did. So much time went into this, i even did the dungeons linked with my 2 DS's.. I think i was pretty lonely.

@ScarHydreigon875 жыл бұрын
To me, the party system in DQIX is twofold. Yes, it means that you have empty husks for companions with no story or personality, but to me, it allows you to make these companions more of your own and make their own backstories and personalities. And for people who like making their own characters, it's a real treat. And this system was actually what inspired me to take my first dives into OC making and Fanfic writing, something I still do today. So I owe so much to DQIX as a game for inspiring so much creativity in me.

Yep! I have great memories of making all my party members into fantasy interpretations of my friends in junior high. There was something really epic about the feeling of taking on this epic journey with them, and added a lot of tension, guilt, or humor to situations where I'd mess up and cause them to die in combat, or when they'd come in clutch and save the whole group. 10:19 is actually a big reason why I really liked that game. Having only a set number of characters to play as and none that "sits on the bench" is an aspect I really like because you get to know all characters equally and battles becomes a lot more fun unlike having a plethora of characters to choose from which *will* make some of them just sit out there and get forgettable. Too many cooks and all that. More RPGs should just have enough characters that are allowed in battle at the same time in my opinion. They all get more memorable that way.

In my opinion DQ 6 got massively underrated. For me it was one of the first games I finished, and I got sucked into its world. Currently playing the game and i disagree,Dragon Quest 6 is mediocre when you take into consideration the masterpiece that is Dragon Quest 5,the dungeons are long and maze like with many dead ends this coupled with the high encounter rate means that the game becomes a slog. The story is a confusing mess going from the real world to the dream One without any heads up,i honestly could not understand many of it's twists due to it Being confusing and it's bad translated dialogue by square Enix. The characters are not very good so they are forgettable,in battle carver (is this his name?)is the ONLY party member that does good damage the others are super underwelming so i don't feel like my characters are evolving. Overall Dragon Quest 6 won't leave any impression on anyone since everything that it does is better in other games.

I was so happy to see VII at #2. I feel like people look over it because of the overly long plot and different art design. VII is probably just one of my most favorite games in general and can mix really convey emotion. For example, doing altreades abbey after losing Kiefer really emphasized the pain of losing him, or another example being seeing how towns held up after you saved them from disasters, with some of them holding grim futures. The 3DS version of DQ7 looks so beautiful. Easily my favorite in the series. The only downside to it is its painfully slow start. It takes 15-20 hours just to unlock the class system, although it makes it that much more rewarding when you finally do, and the game is 100 hours long easily. Also, the limited character models for NPCs are a bit of a downer since NPCs look the same in every town you go. Regardless, the game more than makes up to it with its stellar writing, giving each of them a unique personality and motivation. Truly an underapreciated gem.

My favorite right now is the dq 11s edition on switch. you can basicly play it through twice (3d run, 2d run) and discover new stuff. And the controls really improved from the last dq8 ds which i played last.
