The title intrigued me, because many years ago, probably 20 years by now, I was a flight attendant, I had a flight to Osaka. I wanted to buy Koi and somehow I had an address were a Koibreeder lived. In the outskirts of Osaka. It was amazing and I bought twelve small Kois. Two of them didn't survive the long trip home and another two died within the first week in my pond. But the other 8 lived many years. I was very proud of them, though they were not prize winners.

Wow, such gorgeous video. Your voice is so easy to listen to and the quality footage was very enjoyable. :) I kept thinking that wow, there are people that someday can watch this video and go "look, there is my fish!" And see what kind of people raised him or her. :) I will always wish I had koi in my life but not sure if I ever will be able to. I breed cattle though and I could somewhat relate on seeing a whole "crop" of animals and suddenly go "whoa look at that one!" In a way that didn't show as clearly when they were more spread out with moms in the fields but next to eachother it shows and some of them can stand out in this incredible way that I think can't be explained to those that have never felt it! I could tell too that these breeders have over a very long period of time valued good mentality as well besides good looks and I tend to think it says a lot about a great person when they are breeders with good mentality animals! No matter the species.

Taht was hands down one of the most interesting KZbin videos I have ever seen. What out of the box thinking, on your business model. Thoroughly entertaining. Thank you all for your efforts.

Great video. I love the Japanese culture. It is a very honorable culture and I was never scammed nor have I ever felt unsafe during my travels there. I also felt joy in the culture unlike other APAC cultures I've experienced. I really enjoyed this video. I appreciate the respect your showed the fish and most importantly the people. You gave me goose bumps a number of times throughout the video and made me think about returning with my family. It is very expensive so it may be just a dream for now but one I will consider seriously. Thanks.

They don't need to scam you, you would happily give them 1000plus $ for a fish you can't even eat....

Thank you SO much for this video! I've been dreaming about having my own Koi pond in my backyard, and this video has pushed me over the edge, lol. Beautifully made, lovingly crafted. I fully enjoyed the process in how you obtain your Koi, felt like I was there! I've been to Japan many times in my life, and it never gets old. Thanks again. p.s. If I'm ever in the SAC area, do you allow public viewings?

Wonderful documentary, even 2 years after filming. I felt like I was there with you. This is truly exceptional piece of filming about experiences I wish I would be able to have myself one day.

2:41 Just want to point out that no commercial airline can travel from LAX to Narita Japan in 7 hours 20 minutes. Not even close. They are usually 12 hours or so. For what it is worth.

Before watching this video, I had no interest and zero knowledge about koi. I'm not even sure why I clicked on the video, and I certainly did not expect to watch the full hour. But I did watch the whole thing. I found it fascinating and I loved the way the narrator explained everything. It really made me wish I had the space and the $ to start a koi pond. They really are truly beautiful. Thanks for an informative peek into this cool hobby.

I’m one of the lucky ones to live in my inherited grandmas house which has a beautiful koi pond and waterfall room, currently I own 7 koi fish and looking for more! I really recommend building your own koi pond! It’s delightful to watch them swim and swim and swim. ☺️
