Devil’s Tower, America’s first national monument, and the Medicine Wheel, a national historic landmark in the Big Horns, are popular tourist stops in Wyoming. Both sites are considered unique and special to those who visit them. American Indians, however, consider these two sites to be more than curiosities. For them the sites are sacred and an integral part of their religious belief. Hear the views of local residents, Native Americans, and federal land managers who all believe their perspectives reflect the proper way to manage these controversial sites.

Someone should have told that greedy 'climbing outfit' owner that climbing this sacred rock during the ceremony month of June is equivalent to someone "peeing" on his grave once a year after he is buried....it is that disrespectful. Uluru, Australia, finally has stopped all climbing....blessings be.

I do not believe that people need to be allowed to climb Devil's Tower.

Sacred sites are to be respected for what they are. Climbing could happen elsewhere.

A long past way of life has been vanquished by an invasion, and great voracious monster. It will be it’s own demise.

Accommodating the devil worshippers is un American to the core. What has happened to our trust in God?

What exactly do Native Americans worship? The medicine wheel was built by them but the rock was not. If God built the rock he did not build it for Native Americans exclusively and if anyone worships this Rock they are worshiping the creation rather than the creator.
