How i do them portable? I do mobile xray and I sometimes see orders for sacrum.

I'd ask them if the patient can travel to the floor. That would be a tough one and you may end up repeating a few times.

to align the body to make sure you were in a true lateral

it straightens out the spine. makes sure that the joint spaces are open

you probably have a wide hip, if so, then your spine would be curved down towards the table. the tech uses a sponge to make sure your spine stays straight.

It was likely for the SI joint. There is an oblique position that uses a wedge to elevate the side of interest if you are laying on your back.
