'It's exciting... you want a little bit of aggression,' Khloe said of her ex as she recalled his insistence on getting her number from their mutual manager before they started dating. Dating, Khloe Kardashian recalls her early beginnings with ex-husband Lamar Odom.
During the June 20 episode of The Kardashians, Khloe recalled Lamar's insistence early in their relationship while chatting with her best friend Malika Haqq about her current dating woes.
"He never stopped texting me last night, and I didn't respond," Malika, 41, revealed to Khloé about a new man she's been talking to.
In response, Khloe, 39, told her best friend: “Oh, I love someone who knows what they want.”
"The best thing Lamar did - well, not the best thing, he did a lot of good things - but when I didn't give him my number, then he found out we had the same manager," she recalls. "And then he was going after Lester to get my information. It was interesting... You want a little aggression." She then added: "I also don't think it's good to be single, without wanting to date," before vowing to eventually return to the dating scene but not without some standards.
"It's a scary world, there are phones everywhere," Chloe said. “I definitely think what I went through is one of the factors that made me not say, 'Let's start dating again!'
"I don't want to have sex with my children," she continues. "There's been a lot going on already that could spoil---I don't want to add to that by bringing someone new into the mix, because so far, people have been very disappointing. I'm just not going to open myself up the same way I did before, but I don't I think there's nothing wrong with that, and I also think that's what growing up is, where you learn to protect yourself. Khloe married Lamar on September 27, 2009 - a month to the day after they met - but in 2013, the marriage still started to fall apart NBA Player's Cheating Scandal and Drug Relapse By December, Khloe filed for divorce.
In July 2015, the two stars finally signed divorce papers. In October of that year, Lamar was hospitalized after his long battle with drug addiction came to a head when he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. He remained in the hospital for several months, mostly in a coma.
Despite their ongoing divorce at the time, Khloe rushed to the hospital and stayed by Lamar's side. The Good American founder - who was making all of Lamar's medical decisions - ultimately chose to call off the lengthy divorce proceedings. However, once Lamar was out of the hospital and was on his way to recovery, the two formalized their breakup in December 2016. Khloe later went on to date NBA player Tristan Thompson. The two were on-and-off for years, and survived several cheating scandals, before splitting for good in 2021. They remain on friendly terms today as they share their two children, daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 22 months.
Since then, the reality star has insisted she is content being single and has no desire to get into a new relationship.
"I'm very satisfied and happy," she explained in a previous episode. “I feel like I'm thriving in my little circle and the world, but even just the thought of having someone in it.” My space that I have to share the TV or my bed, I say: No means no, and that's all you need to know, I think I'm finding my rhythm in life again."
