The sad story of a pet monkey that was released into the forest
part 2: • Kisah Sedih Monyet Di ...
part 3: • Kisah si monyet yang d...
part 4: • Kisah sedih monyet yan...
This monkey has been kept since I was a child 8 years ago, I asked for this monkey from the hunter, because it is impossible for the hunter to take care of him, for 8 years this monkey has never known animals of this kind and only knows humans and other pets
At first this monkey was docile and obedient, but because it was often bullied by children, over time this monkey became an aggressive monkey, and only tame and obeyed the same care, every time he saw people he didn't know or didn't like, this monkey became aggressive.
Because of that this monkey was released in the forest or rubber plantations far from residential areas and could mingle with other monkeys, but because he was not used to hanging out with monkeys in general he also preferred to be alone.
The release process takes quite a long time, for -+ 6 months, almost every day, he is visited and fed, if there is a wound, he is immediately treated until he survives in the wild because it happens that our garden is self-tapping.
Indeed, because it is a rubber plantation, it seems that there is no food source for the monkeys, but actually that is not the case. A herd of wild monkeys that live in the forest every time they look for food, they always go to rubber plantations, it has no effect on rubber plants that are already productive, unless they enter the forest. New plantations, whose plants are 0 to 3 years old, they will become pests that destroy crops because they like to eat rubber leaf shoots
In addition to rubber leaf buds, there are also quite a lot of other food sources, namely senggani fruit, seeds that grow on the border between garden 1 and other gardens and the banks of the river as well as saplings of oil palm trees that grow a lot around there, because it happens to be close to oil palm plantations as well.
Why not just let it go in the forest?
If it is released directly into the forest, it will be difficult to monitor it and will also be in direct contact with a herd of wild monkeys, which as a result can be attacked immediately.
why not just give it to the zoo?
There is no zoo in this area
why not submit it to the conservation hall or the BKSDA?
this type of long-tailed monkey, the population is still very large, even in some areas population growth tends to be uncontrolled, even entering residential areas
This type of monkey is not included in the list of protected animals
The authorized party will only move it to a place that does not endanger the population, not take care of the process of releasing this type of monkey, because these monkeys are not included in the category of endangered animals or animals protected by law.
