Shops just can't compete with the internet Greg. Towns all over the country are struggling to survive. Shame really but we all contribute to the decline as we want cheaper deals from Amazon etc. Enjoyed this one!

come and visit macc on treacle market sunday (last sunday of the month) next one is sunday 27th october 10am-3:30pm it completely changes (food stalls are everywhere)

Was down on Sunday for the treacle market. Was good to see a town so busy and full of life. Loads of independent shops too. Thinking of buying a place in the town

@@Stockybloke I used to live There used to the discos at the bowling green pub on Stockport road which is no longer there Moved away in 1996 to live in Newark been back a few times last time 5 years ago Still hear from friends there And meet up with them when County play in notts Seen them at Mansfield and Going this Saturday to the Lincoln Game Thanks Greg for bringing back Some good memories for me David Hurstfield

Hi greg. When did you return from Benidorm. Hope you had a great holiday. It seems to be every town greg is the same shops boarded up. Amazon has a lot to do with it. But I must admit greg were we live in Workington our town is thriving with new businesses coming all the time. CARLISLE our city used to be very busy but now our town is absolutely thriving and people are coming to Workington for all the top shops and not going to Carlisle. Cheers greg take care. Ann xx❤.

Macclesfield looks a lot better off than some places in the UK. I blame online shopping and the lack of government funding for infer structure/ They prop up the big cities and underfund the towns.
