Chemtrails over the country club has me stumped!!! This album is rich with production, soul and lyrically has my mind racing with different ideas and thoughts. I would love to hear y’all thoughts about what y’all feel is the overall theme and message to take from the album!

OMG, I'm so happy you're doing a deep dive into Chemtrails Over the Country Club! Your insights on everything Lana are always spot on. Sending you lots of love! 💖 I personally see Chemtrails, both the isolated song but also the whole album, as Lana's ode to a simpler life. The line about meeting for coffee at the elementary school really hit me. It's interesting to note that elementary schools are often used as locations for AA meetings. They typically serve coffee, so it's possible Lana is referencing her own journey towards sobriety through this particular lyric. Considering her past struggles with the issue, and the fact that she's been very vocal about it in other songs, I think it symbolizes finding peace and community in a more grounded environment, away from the more toxic celebrity and fame and crazy party scene. It's like she's trading in the fast lane for a slower, more meaningful existence while saying "im just so strange and wiiiild" 🤍🤍🤍

Aww thanks so much!💜✨I love your insights and that’s such a good point about the AA meetings. It’s interesting what you mentioned about her sobriety and the meetings at schools because of how she always talks about innocence and being young in her songs. I totally agree that Lana finds comfort in the small town simpler life and away from the Hollywood fame. Such a good album😍❤️

Since you really like Wild at Heart, you might appreciate (if you didn’t already notice) that the instrumental bridge of How to disappear is sampled in the WaH chorus.

Pearl Jam, Lana Del Rey, and Kendrick Lamar are my three favorite musicians of all time. They made me who I am 🧡 You should react to rock music totally, you would bring in a different crowd!

More facts: Yosemite els recorded un one take, and It is said that it's about her (business) relationship with her Producer. "I did It for you, you did It for me, we did It for free, for the right reasons", witch also refers to the last song For Free. If you read Yosemite lyrics again with this on mind, it'll change all t'he point of view. Also, the album starts with her telling us she started young "just singing in the streets" and ends talking about a man who sings in the streets for free while she plays for fortunes. Life changed, fame changed everything.

A wonderful, thoughtful reaction as always, so thank you for that. Some of my thoughts: Firstly, I don't think this is a concept/storyline album in the strict sense, so when things don't connect 100% forwards and backwards, don't get hung up on that. I agree with you talking about songs like Wild at Heart being about fame and her fans - like real life, they're not just simple statements that fame is good or fame is bad - she's recognising how stupid and alienating fame is, while at the same time it's letting her thoughts be heard by her fans, so that's the two sides of the coin. As for the phrase 'A Candle In The Wind' ... of course, it's from the Elton John/Bernie Taupin song, and there, it's a metaphor for a fragile life in the limelight (A candle on the brink of being blown out at any second). To me, Lana saying 'No more candle in the wind' isn't saying that it's snuffed out, rather that she's no longer at risk of being overwhelmed by the down side of fame. So it's a positive line, not a negative one.

Fun fact: did you know White Dress was FREESTYLED? She was in the studio with the miic on, just letting her mind go while singing, and Jack recorded it. It was so good that they just put some instrumentals in the back and that was the version that went to the album. Shes a fuckin genius.
