saddleback.com/comebacks - When we think of impossible comebacks, our minds often go to a football game in which a team is down by two touchdowns in the final minutes. But for us, it’s never too late for a comeback when God is on our side. In this message, Pastor Tom Holladay takes a look at the life of Moses as a powerful example of a comeback that can give us hope. You’ll learn God’s four answers to our questions about comebacks, including knowing who he is, finding comfort in his presence, examining what’s in your hand, and knowing that God is in control. Don’t miss this message that will give you strength to take that first step - even when a comeback feels impossible.

I fell upon this sermon and it has been the only thing that encouraged me. In three days, circumstances beyond our control, we will lose a home, and have no place to go.

I saw God work here. I was praying all night, & seeking God tonight. I prayed about continuing at my current college, & again the Bible devotion daily Word was about God doing a new thing; a new chapter. So I prayed that God would again allow me to hear a Word, to know what is next, & what He is calling me to do, & the right sermon would be posted available to me when I opened youtube. LOL. But I always find God does care to lead us & answer when I seek Him. I know God has shown me to be an artist (which can feel very risky, except for total trust in God), but I wasn't sure about what is next in being led on that path. I can feel uncertain even of my own style of art--- but my style has seemed to be 'God with me'--- I pray about each project, & always see amazing Words to help & guide me with it in daily Bible devotions... just like this sermon. Praise God; may my life achieve His good will & purposes, with His help & strength. Thanks for this Word.

I want to share I have found God to be a God who is not limited to one narrow method of working with his people--- He led me clearly to be Catholic when I prayed to be shown: the minute after my prayer God allowed me to hear the story of a person converted to Catholicism. When I prayed which church in my neighborhood to attend, asking to please somehow hear one of the church names, so I know which one--- within 1 hour I received a phone call saying one of the names! When I prayed about serving at the altar as a Eucharistic minister, I read 2 daily Bible devotions, & both were about serving at the altar in the temple, & caring for the Lord's body, with a discussion word about volunteering at your church. Yet, I have also seen God work through sermons outside my church, like Joyce Meyer, or Saddleback church, & especially through daily Bible devotion books. I also have repeatedly worked through whole scholarly Bible study books, with the Bible, on my own, & with classes. I saw God work through non-Christian support groups. I found a miracle with this sermon on this page tonight too, answering my exact prayer today. You need to realize God may use different resources different ways, & also take responsibility to make sure ALL your spiritual needs in the Lord are met. The biggest vehicle God uses to work in us is life itself. Bless you.

Jehovah is not Hebrew. It is a Latinization of YHWH. YHWH means I AM though. I cringe when people use that version and say it's Hebrew as my husband and I were fooled by a cult who taught that Jehovah was the original Hebrew name. I now know better as there is no 'J' sound in Hebrew. But otherwise this is a good sermon.

Yahweh in Hebrew but Jehovah in English and many other languages .

It is only used in English because we chose the version put together by Raymundus Martini, a Catholic monk, and later on put it in the King James version of the Bible. We often use Yahweh too. I think it just bothers me when I hear people say 'Jehovah' is the Hebrew name, because it's not possible to be Hebrew, and also because my husband and I were lied to previously regarding the name Jehovah being Hebrew. My late husband was a Jehovah's Witness. If I hear a hymn in church using that version of the name, I don't sing it now and I cringe. Either way, YHWH means "I am" (Exodus 3:14). Jesus called himself "I am" also (John 8:58). Jesus is definitely the deity which is why they then tried to stone him for blasphemy when he said this.
