I have the kuryakyn box for my chihuahua. The best way to prevent the box forming to the seat is to fit a sheet of plywood or similar into the bottom of the box and bolt it in. That keeps the base rigid. I’ve done a vid where I show this. Really enjoying your channel 👍

Your baby is awesome. I use a Pet palace since 2016 on my bike for my two chihuahua, the older of two one baby ride 30000 km on Kuryakin. With little hello from France.

Question, what to do with the pups when it’s rainy on a ride? Do you close windows? Or use a waterproof cover?

Hello! We typically try to wait out rain, especially storms. When we have to ride in the rain we zip up the compartments which works well in a light shower.

I have GL1800 2006 Goldwing that has a plastic cover for the gas tank. I'm looking for a tank bag that straps down. I have a 4 1/2-pound Yorkie. Could recommend something?

Hello! The only tank bag we have found and used specifically designed to carry a dog is the Bagster Puppy. I have used it on a HD V-rod airbag cover (where a conventional fuel tank is), a HD Street Glide as well as on a snowmobile. They come with several mounting options however I always modified them in some way to suite the application. I could not find a North American distributor for Bagster so I ordered from across the pond.

Have you ever taken the temp inside the carrier? What is the max outside temp you should travel with animals in a motorcycle

Hey Chad, on hot days we keep all the vents open and the top wide open to make sure there is plenty of air flow. We have also placed cooler ice packs inside the carriers to help as well. Lots of stops for hydration breaks is a must for both us and the dogs. We have not placed a thermometer in the carriers but now that you mentioned it we will, thanks for the idea. During heat waves we try ride earlier in the day and get to our destination while the temps are cooler. Luckily in Canada our really hot days are few and far between and were are usually more concerned about keeping the dogs warm. As for max temp, once it gets over 30 degrees Celsius we need to keep moving or park it and find some shade.

Not that we have seen, in this style the Grand Pet Palace is the largest we have come across.

Great video! I am getting a brand new Tri-Glide in July. It looks like the Saddleman was kind of made for the back seat!. Would you agree? I will be carrying one dog about 18 pounds.

Thanks Tracy! Both the Saddlemen and the Kuryakyn will work on the back seat or on a large rack. We prefer the seat as it feels "safer". On a Tri-Glide (congrats!!) we would recommend the seat. The rack would place the dog quite high and would puppers would be fighting more gravity on a quick manoeuvre. In our opinion, the Kuryakyn would probably be a better fit for an 18 pound dog. What size and brand were the goggles of your poms? I have a pom also, and the kuryakyn, sits on the back of a rather modest 200 duke. I was quite inspired by your video.

Hi there, thank you for your kind words! Check out our other videos, "An Introduction to the Motor-Dogz" is a popular one. We use Doggles (x-small) and Rex Specs (x-small) with our poms. We will be doing a Doggles vs Rex Specs video this winter. We like them both for different reasons. The Doggles lenses scratch pretty easily and after a season of riding the foam tends to deteriorate. They are fairly easy for the dog to push up on their forehead so can be tricky to keep them on. On the plus side they look really cute and the lenses pop out easily to clean or replace. Rex Specs are harder for the dog to get off, actually we have never had ours get them off. They are not the ideal fit for a pom as with the way their snouts are their eyes are in the bottom portion of the lens, not the middle. The lenses do not scratch as easily as the Doggles ones do but they will scratch if the dog rubs them against things in an attempt to get them off. Rex Specs are more expensive however we feel the quality is better. Either way recommend taking the lenses out the first few times and let pupper get used to wearing just the frames. This prevents the lenses from getting scratched if they try take them off as well as it doesn't effect their vision with a tinted lens right off the bat. Good luck and safe travels!!!

What if it rains? does it have some sort of cover that won't restrict air ventilation?

We try to avoid the rain. However, on occasion when we hit a shower, we zip them up and leave the side ventilation windows open. Once the shower is over, the sun dries everything out. Our dogs have never gotten wet inside the carriers although we have never been caught in days of rain with them.

Hi There! Most dogs adapt very well to being on a motorcycle. All of our dogs ride however Buckley our Yorkie only likes slow speeds. Mercedes lives for it and pouts if she is not up front on the tank.
